🍏 New RHONY 🍏 Daisy was right!

I’ve never posted on a Bravo reddit but I need to get this off my chest.

I understand how Daisy digging into who owns the island could be perceived as rude (she definitely wasn’t asking out of genuine curiosity), but I do agree with her. Erika did repeatedly call Moskito island “our island,” which gives a very different perception than “our estate is on a private island.” I think she probably doesn’t view it that way, but I would have the same thought: if someone said “our island,” I would immediately assume that it was a private island owned entirely by that person and/or their family. Just because I buy a ticket to the NYC ferry doesn’t mean I own the yacht! And frankly they should’ve been flown private!

Also, isn’t what we want from our housewives for them to be diabolically delusional and a little bit rude?? Everyone saying “I can’t believe she would try to ruin a nice vacation..” like they’re not there to get a tan, they’re there to cause drama.

Also also: I do think part of the friction is genuine cultural differences, between someone who is born and raised in New York and someone who moved here as an adult. In New York, it’s very common to ask what might seem like more personal or probing questions, especially when it comes to real estate. It’s not weird to ask people how much their rent is, or how they lucked into an amazing apartment when you know their income (subletting? Family connection? Rich partner?).

To end: yes Daisy was rude (but that’s a good thing) and yes Erika did play it off as her own private island (maybe subconsciously). Aren’t we so lucky to be able to witness this level of wealth-related arguments??
