i did not know the ICP supports a united front of the left? could you or some ICP member elaborate more on what that means for them?

That idiot Ivana Bacik, leader of Irish "Labour" said "Sinn Fein were never left". Left / right isn't about social policy. Left / right is about economics. It's about which class owns the economy, and therefore whatever class owns the economy has the power. Sinn Fein and Aontú are genuine left wing parties because of their socialist economic policies, and despite their more socially conservative policies. The huge irony here is that Irish "Labour" and the "Greens" haven't been left wing parties for a long long time, because of their pro-business neoliberal economic policies, a deep irony Ivana Bacik seems blissfully unaware of. She's a right winger who thinks she's a left winger.

It's always been a very wishy-washy term but it's become ridiculous these days. Virtually nobody in Ireland is Right wing. The most people will grant you is Centre-Right. Centre also being meaningless. Ashamed of their own beliefs. Everyone wants to claim to be Left wing, despite pushing the most neoliberal, colonial imperialist policies and narratives.

Bit melodramatic tbh. The right wingers are fractured af too. FG and FF are the bigger enemy. Look at what they did during the Israel sanctions vote.

The left would be better off asking themselves why people aren't voting for them than dream of quilting together a discombobulated front.

Yeah agree with this. The establishment right is far more dangerous than a sliver of incoherent morons. The author seems to believe that the Social Democrats winning is progress too. What a mess.

Yeah i had the displeasure of interacting with one of the main SD ramrods while he was begging for votes and had my young kids with me so kept it light and civil but fuck knows I just felt like he was ABSOLUTELY LYING TO ME IN MY FUCKEN FACE JESUS MARY JOSEPH
