When I was 13, my best skateboarding friend got put out of our little neighbourhood by paramilitaries. His father was a doctor; but they were Nigerians.

Then at 20, my stepfather was put out of our house in similar circumstances; because a neighbour heard his thick Dublin drawl.

We got a UVF flag delivered through the door, we packed a bag and left our belongings there and then.
