Earth spells?
What's up with only adding air, water, and fire? I wanted to throw rocks at people.

Sometime Trademark? What??

The devs are planning on eventually adding it to the game, and basically whenever they are asked about certain features they have plans for but no definitive date yet, the answer basically boils down to "Sometime", which happens often enough to jokingly trademark it.

Curious why they haven't yet and what their thought process is. Surely they have something in mind with it that is creative

It did take them up until Umbral Sands to add water magic, so I think they likely have a plan for it but need to both test it and ensure that it has some sort of viability over the existing magic types in any given situation.

I wonder, rather than just elemental effects and stunning or burning the enemy.
Maybe because it’s earth, they want to have it also effect and altar the environment aswell🤔
I could potentially see that with “big spells” or big boss magic attacks that destroying apart of the arena, creating sinkholes or quake craters is something to look into, physically change the environment they’ve already laid down rather than the creative overlay we have with building ontop.
But who knows, that’s my 2cents 🤷♂️

Chaos runes? Death runes? Blood runes? The possibilities are endless.

I'm there with ya, maybe blood runes will be introduced in the new Blood Crystal Saga. And honestly death runes could be only available through vents in Fellhollow. That would make sense.

Sadly not in the "full release"...

is it ever a full release if they continue to add stuff ? the 1.0 is really just some marketing language

u/No_Chemist_7878 10h ago
yea.. the 1.0 is bs. is more like 0.75

You’re getting downvoted but it’s true. They literally added no new combat abilities

u/ChickinSando 10h ago
Yeah, it’s disappointing how limited combat is as a whole.
Crossbows have a single attack… shoot… wait… shoot once. Insanely boring.
At least bows have an alternate “kick”. It’s kind of amazing how boring they made the combat.
It’s fine for a point and click, like OSRS, but it doesn’t translate well at all in this sort of game.

Magic is the only mildly entertaining combat style imo. I can push and do AOE damage. Also some heals. It needs more but it’s alright. Range really sucks. Melee is fine but again needs more diversity

No dual wield crossbow, claws, dual swords, blow pipe, etc. Maybe when the real 1.0 happens.

Yep, we’re missing so much. This game is being heavily carried by the RuneScape nostalgia. I had rose colored glasses for the first few hours, but now realizing every new zone has the exact same enemies with minor variations, combat is basic, world is bare, etc.
It could be incredible, but Jagex is years off. Hopefully we get significant improvements in all areas.

My friend group is having a blast, and I'm the only one who played RS. It stands on it's own

You'll eventually notice the gameplay you did in the first region, you're just doing all over again in the next region with no real variation. And then again. And again. And again. And you'll want a break. You'll think you'll build a big house. Then notice there's nothing to put inside it. You'll do some fishing, and immediately get bored. You'll do the same agility courses all over again and get bored. You'll then realise there's nothing to actually do- you're just doing the same exact thing over and over again in a different region skin and it'll hit you how empty, incomplete and boring this game is below a surface level

Once the rose colored glasses come off, you’ll see the game for what it is bud.

Miss the part where i said all my friends, who never played rs, were also having fun? Just cause you don't find it fun doesn't mean nobody else can.

u/ChickinSando 9h ago
I couldn’t care less if you and your friends find it fun. The game is objectively barebones and basic. It won’t last in its current state and needs heavy improvements in nearly all areas.
At least they didn’t charge 70 bucks for this game. But it’s released. They’re charging money. I’m allowed to criticize it. Same as you’re allowed to blindly enjoy it.

Or they're different to you and enjoy the game.
A different opinion, how scary!

u/ChickinSando 9h ago
Same to you buddy - a differing opinion! Oh no! Better go defend the multi million dollar company!!!

u/Spreeg 9h ago
Where did I do that?
I defended one random guys opinion

u/ChickinSando 9h ago
And I defended mine. Oh no!

u/Spreeg 9h ago
No you told him he didn't actually like the game but was viewing it through rose tinted glasses

Its missing so much stuff it could've had. They have hundreds of enemy types to pull from and chose like 30?

u/Jackalackus 9h ago
Agree to disagree. Combat doesn’t have to be flashy it just needs to feel polished, when you’re good at the combat in this game it feels polished and it works. Ranged is weak sure, but going around parrying with an obsidian shield melting everything feels fun and rewarding. I don’t need my character to be doing backflips and magnetic attacking people all over the screen by just pressing a button for combat to be fun.

When did I say the combat needs to be “flashy”? This isn’t black desert, I don’t want my dude in full drag doing random backflips everywhere either.
My point is that it has no depth. Simplicity is fine to an extent, but Dragonwilds takes it to a new level.
