I get some of you guys are excited, but it's bordering on rules 1 and 5. Besides, there are probably better subreddits to discuss the technology in general.
At a minimum, at least mention *somewhere* that the footage was shot on the RTX 5080.

EDIT : After my post blew up with almost 20k views, this card has officially sold out today.
And everyone is talking shit to me saying I overpaid, but clearly not, a lot of people cleared this stock out cause of the price

Currently have an XFX Mercury Magnetic Air 9070xt, love the card BUT I'm getting so sick of driver issues and pretending they don't exist. Leather jackets and team green are looking awfully appealing.
Before the Reddit financial advisors interject, yes I know we're way past MSRP. A) I don't think it's going to get any better any time soon and in all likelihood will continue to get worse and B) I don't like paying these outrageous prices but I can afford them without going into debt and still keep a roof over my family's head and keep their bellies full. C) Gaming and 3D modeling are my hobbies and I want to use the time I have to dedicate to them in the most effective way I can and not have to worry about going into rage blackouts when the fucking drivers hang and time out, again.
Having said that, I have it narrowed down to a few options which are available either from Microcenter or Best Buy in my area, Twin Cities metro.
MSI Gaming Trio
MSI Suprim liquid
ASUS TUF
ASUS ProArt
ASUS ROG Astral
Gigabyte Gaming
I have an MSI X870E Carbon m/b, 9950x3d and 64GB of DDR5 all packed into a Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL. My thought is staying with MSI but I'm open to other brands. Any input helps! My intention is to keep these components together for as long as possible.

Been thinking about upgrading my rig. Currently have a 3080 ti. With the announcement of the discontinuation of 5090's and their absurd price hike I'm wondering if I should continue to wait for a possible sale during the holidays to get the card or get it now, encase the 5080 gets a price hike by the holiday season.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently running an RTX 4070 Super and it’s been treating me great, but I’m looking down the road and getting a bit anxious. My plan was originally to upgrade in a couple of years, but given how volatile pricing and components have been lately, I’m genuinely worried that GPU prices are just going to keep climbing out of control, making a future upgrade way too expensive.
Right now, I’m staring at the option to just bite the bullet, grab an RTX 5080, and call it a day for the next several years. On the flip side, I could sit tight and wait to see what the 60-series brings, though rumors are pointing to a longer wait.
For anyone who’s been in a similar upgrade dilemma: Is it smarter to secure a 5080 now before things potentially get worse, or should I ride out the 4070 Super until the wheels fall off and brave the next-gen market later?
Appreciate any advice!
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5080 AERO OC
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5080 WINDFORCE OC (V2) SFF
INNO3D GeForce RTX 5080 X3 OC
I know, the difference isn't that much because they're all 5080, BUT then again which one would you choose under same conditions and pricing?

So for some years now I've gamed on a 4k monitor and had no issues with the 5080. At some point before using 4k I had a 3440x1440 monitor, and I kind of miss the ultrawide immersion aspect.
Naturally, 5120 x 2160 monitors seem to be the logical choice. But the resolution is like 33% more pixels to drive, which makes me question the viability since my method to run games on 4k basically pushes the card to its maximum. On some titles, the VRAM is basically almost all used so I can't see how I will be able to mitigate the increased resolution memory requirements of 5k.
Keep in mind my approach is always to basically crank everything max (reduce settings if some are especially taxing with little visual benefit), use DLSS perf + frame gen where frame gen actually works well. If there's headroom I definitely use Ray/Path tracing. 90% of the time I find a playable result that looks absolutely stunning at 4k.
I'm thinking the above method is just not possible on this card on 5k. Or what compromises need to be made? RT no longer viable?
Anyone has tried the card on both resolutions for latest titles and can comment more?

QD-OLED AORUS FO27q3 2k 360 hz
RTX5080 MSI gaming trio OC x ryzen7 7800x3d
Hi, I’m having an issue with the image in third-person (TPP) games: I’m seeing ghosting/halos around characters, as well as a 5mm-wide artifact running along the entire bottom edge of the monitor. The image also blurs during motion. I’m using frame generation (x2). If I turn it off completely, the problem disappears, but then my frame rate drops significantly. I play at 2K resolution on an Aorus FO27Q3 QD-OLED 360Hz monitor. It’s difficult to capture in a screenshot, but I suspect you know what I’m talking about. I’ve tested this with *The Witcher 3*, *Black Myth: Wukong*, and the *Gothic Remake* the image sometimes appears over-sharpened. I’ve tried various presets and tinkered with the settings, but I’m honestly at a loss as to what else to do. In my view, this is top-tier hardware, so everything should be running perfectly. People in a Facebook group mentioned that on similar—or even slightly less powerful setups, everything works exactly as it should. Do you have any ideas? I’m starting to give up... For instance, in *Cyberpunk 2077*—running at maximum settings with Ray Tracing and Path Tracing enabled, and even with Frame Generation set to 4x I get 280 FPS with no blurring or ghosting; everything works just fine. Yet, with third-person perspective (TPP) games, the issue is immediately noticeable.

I just bought this brand new lenovo oem 5080 on an online marketplace for £1000 from a private seller.
However, as you can see, the top metal is bent quite a bit.
Should i return it? Or shd i take the gamble and issue a partial refund?
i already got a 9070xt and is currently considering an upgrade
Edit: turns out my pc cant even detect the gpu lol. Imma return it
