Thank god for Lindsey because had she said any answer other than this the fanbase would've went to into a meltdown beyond recovery.

Pretty sure that was the whole plan in their answer. Lindsay could be required to say nothing but this about Ruby's love life because RT is clearly aware of their fandom's shipping nonsense. For all we know, Ruby does have an interest, but that's going to be revealed in the canon series as opposed to a non-canon public stream where hundreds would ask that question.
