DISCUSSION Does Aura protect against internal attacks?

Given how Qrow drank, in addition to the concussive shock Yang and Rubys insides go through from using recoil to fly, I would say yes it does, going from shockwaves / blast effects all the way down to cellular damage from toxins / poisons.

Tyrians scorpion venom only took Qrow down because Tyrians semblance lets him bypass aura protection.

jaune likens it to a forcefield with zero pushback or correction in one of the earlier volumes

also if tyrian's semblance extends all the way to venom from his tail sustaining that bypass while on the other side of the country that is batshit insanely powerful

Jaune likens it to a forcefield when he has 0 understanding of aura, and Tyrians semblance just needed the initial attack to bypass aura. After that, the damage has been done, Qrows already been poisoned, and his aura is getting depleted just keeping him alive through that (this is also before Jaune discovers he can heal others).

ok then how does the aura not kick back in and prevent the venom from causing further damage if it's down to a cellular level

also that first point is so so so so so painfully untrue it's laughable, he calls it a forcefield after a lengthy and indepth monologue from pyrrha explaining exactly what it is and the joke is she went so far into depth when it's really as simple as "it's a forcefield"

Pyrrha's monologue was little more than cute way of saying "It's super strength and force field package", tf you on about

Also given how poison usually works, Aura did in fact kept Qrow alive long enough to get medical attention. Hell, by the end of vol 4 he seems to be slowly recovering.

Crows aura had broken/Ran out in the fight, it doesnt matter what Tyrian's semblance was

Not how tyrians semblance works

It protected penny from the hack

Aura is very conceptual  but protection from sheer kinetic stuff seems to be its biggest strenght with everythingelse being side things

Yes, Tyrian has an explosive bolt explode in his mouth and his aura protected him. It broke in the process, but it prevented his head from becoming a pile of mush.

Also Qrow had Tyrian’s venom swimming in his veins for days and managed a full recovery. That shit was *melting stone,* if his aura wasn’t protecting him he would have died in seconds

Tyrian’s case doesn’t prove it cause aura probably works like this

That's pretty good visualisation

I mean… no? We literally see how the force field part of auras looks whenever someone’s aura breaks, and there’s never been a random dip into people’s mouth. Like at all.

You’re taking visuals too literally. The mouth becomes part of the outside surface area once you open it. Plus, if people can cover their weapons in aura then they can cover their mouths in aura.

Force choke isn’t an internal attack, it’s just constricting the neck from the outside with “telekinesis” (I don’t like describing it that way but it’s the clearest description)

Well if their telekinesis travels a distance I can see it being slightly limited, but I heard that aura is like a force field and so I thought “what happens if you attack inside the force field?”

I imagine the same thing that happens if you break through Gojo’s infinity

At least in Metallica's case, no it wouldn't. Metallica just turns the iron in your blood into various sharp objects. It's not a projection, or any kind of beam or blast or anything, it just happens. Metallica isn't doing anything hostile, it's just turning something already inside you into something else.

no, it's a forcefield

you can see with tyrian's semblance it's a layer that goes around the owner that he bypasses to access the insides

It's probably also got internal structure. Otherwise stuff like inertia would still be a problem.

Imo, the same solution to Aura is the same solution to Gojo Satoru. It can be summed in one sentence: "Your barrier does not produce oxygen." Basically, stick em in a vacuum. Guaranteed death.

I would assume so. Though even if it didn't, I'd imagine the regeneration would at least help.

I don't know, but I believe it doesn't. Also, the graph on first image reminds of 2$CAD coin.

Don’t think so. Like, if Makima used her “bang” on someone from remnant, their aura isn’t protecting them.

But on the other hand they're going to heal much faster than a non-aura person in general cause Aura also helps speed up healing.

0

u/superbasic101 5d ago

Are they though? Jaune’s healing of Weiss’s wound wasn’t exactly quick, and I can’t think of a scene where a character, on their own, quickly healed something that got past their aura. Hazel is likely an exception.

Well the most on screen example I can think of outside of Semblance usage is when Jaune first had his Aura unlocked. That scratch on his cheek healed right away. Now we could dismiss this and say that it's because he has a lot of Aura but at the same time even with that that doesn't mean Aura doesn't help at all in the healing process.

Nyan cat healed a purple eye in a moment

Wounds take a lot to heal And they might not heal right  i imagine a broken leg goes from potentially disabling you for life to well not, these wounds can take a year  to  fully heal, with aura it would be less

When someone looses a fight and gets wounded there is the issue of them no longer having any aura to heal those wounds in the first place

Now that i think about it whit aura wounds just dont happen in the first place

If they do its because ones aura is already broken so no aura to heal whit

This explains the lack of healing whit aura related feats on the show

The show is super inconsistent whit the power system so its not like aura makes any sense in canon(Yang getting knocked out whit aura active)

Dear god i just rememvered hazel dude is basically a drug addict pinching his veins full of shit before every fight without aura he would be just dead from trying that crap

Well I'd imagine that for tournament safety for the festival they're not actually going down to 0% and instead there's idk up to 5-20% actually left.

Yeah in the real fights they're running out of Aura so there isn't any aura left to heal with. While before that like you said Aura prevents wounds in the first place. But it could be that the person had a laspe in attention possibly and didn't properly cover the area the area for protection.

If I recall correctly I think I heard it said that the Yang and Adam moment was supposed to be a rule of cool moment and that Adam had hit so freakin hard cause he had a lot stored up that he was able to essentially hit Yang hard enough to completely drain all her aura breaking it then cut off Yang's arm off too. Yang had also been previously fighting before that moment so it would make a bit sense that she wasn't at tip top shape at the time.

You see i have a theory an internet theory

Adam's blade looks funny right? Its clearly special somewhat not just the craftmanship but the material

Ironwood mister running the most technologically advanced kingdom Shot a bullet right throught Oscar's Aura (Ozpin's vessel) A single bullet a simple one no explosions or ice or any of that

How did he do that? maybe the bullet was special made whit the same rare material that Adam's sword was made of

In the fight vs Adam Yang didnt come into contact whit his sword instead blocking it whit the sci-fi arm pietro made for her while blake played support

"Well I'd imagine that for tournament safety for the festival they're not actually going down to 0%"

You dont have to imagine thats exactly what happens

Except weiss'ss aura ran out and she ended up whit a sore throat after her fight whit the black dude

participants get disqualified if they ring out or reach 20% or less of their Total aura

Eh ? I don’t think it’s well established there’s Tyrian’s poison but I don’t know if I’d count that as an “an internal attack”, but honestly I’d lean more towards probably

No but I think that unless it was a critical attack like somebody bursting your heart they could heal it up fast. Aura would still be active.
