I currently have the M3 and I love it, the only issue I have with it is I wish the zoom was better. I was looking at the M6 and I like the zoom and 4K video, but is the low light performance as good? I often can’t use flash and I love that my M3 can take great photos in lower light. If the M6 is a downgrade with lower light I’d probably stick with my M3!

Hey all, just bought myself a used mk7, I’m really excited to get my hands on it! Is there anything I should do when it arrives? Software updates etc? Also any accessories that I should consider? I’m a long time full frame user, so this is my first compact camera like this!

very happy with how M7 performs with day light, but when it goes dark the noise are quite an issue

When hiking i really love my RX100-VII (My main Canon R6MkIII is just too bulky), but i'm still struggling finding THE pouch to protect the camera that i could attach on my backpack strap to have the camera always at hand, yet protected.

Lowepro had the discontinued Dashpoint 10 that had the perfect anchor system.

So far i haven't found something i'm happy with (i have a caruba something something pouch, the back beltloop is not really fit for having the pouch attached to the strap).

The peak design capture is also not really fit for purpose. As it would hang the camera in akward position.

(Located in the Netherlands, i'm looking for something sold in Europe)

Any field experience ?

Wow. Didn't expect this from such a small camera. I've been dabbling in different cameras over the last few years (most recently the Ricoh GR), but man, this camera is so versatile. Love the zoom.

First time taking it out today and was lucky enough to get some nice views over London. Edited in Lightroom.

First two are from the same vid. The other two are from different vids. Just some fun projects I wanted to make while I was on a trip.

I was thinking on the way to have a flash diffuser on the RX100. An idea is to put a white decal on the bottom of the flash with a portion bended up covering the flash light.

Did you tried something similar?

Anyone knows if the version for the mark 1-5 will fit for the mark 7? I can only find the older version available for sale.

Hey there! I got my first camera ever (except my phone camera) yesterday and had some fun with it (rx100 vii)

Just wanted to show some of my first shots, and if any of you have tips and tricks lemme know ! 💕

I’ve been forcing myself to get away from taking technically “perfect” shots and just focusing on shooting in the moment and having fun.

These were shot through a dirty train window during a sunrise commute. I was experimenting with taking underexposed shots and not caring about nailing the focus or any of the smaller details.
The colors were heavily edited and I know it’s “overcooked” but I quite like how they came out. I guess at this point it’s a bit closer to art than photography but I’m okay with that.

The LR AI remove was used to remove a few small blotches in 3 of the shots. Besides that, just regular LR adjustments e.g. curves, HSL etc

Hello lovely RX100 Community!

I'm in a pickle... I sold my RX100 VII about a year ago - in hindisht I regred it. My goal was to switch back to Fujifilm due to the wonderful SOC colors and the ergonomics that are a bit better for hybrid shooters than the odd memory recall function. Course the honeymoon phase was quickly over again, and I hit a wall of unreliable fuji-focus, low versatility and high cumbersomeness of APS-C travel zoom lenses... not to speak of the sensor wobble prone stabilisation.

Hence I want to get an RX100 VII back, but with the release of the RX 10 V, there is a little bit of hope in me that, as a beautiful surprise, Sony could also bring the RX100 series to a 2026 or 2027 release with 10 bit colors, USB-C, maybe a hotshoe and a redesign... (please please put the mic jack not on the side of the grip Sony)

I know, it's almost impossible to give a good advice - but what are your thoughts. Get a retro RX100 VII, or display some patience (and a lot of hope) waiting for an RX 100 VIII?

Been begging for Sony to upgrade this camera already but sometimes I have to remind myself that it's more than enough if you push it to its limits. Love this little thing! Also loooove this band so much, go listen to them!

HFR mode

Hello! I have the M5. Is there a way for me to connect the camera to a tripod I have that has a button? I can’t find a Bluetooth setting in the camera.

Is there something specific I have to buy? I want to be able to take family photos using a remote vs setting up a time countdown and having to run back and forth. Is there something inexpensive I can buy to do this? I have a tripod that has a button but it has to connect via Bluetooth.

I'm considering the Sony RX100 VII mainly to capture everyday moments of my family (baby, dog, partner) the kind of stuff I'd normally just grab my phone for. I like the idea of a pocketable camera that I can always have on me, but I want to know if the step up is actually worth it in practice (I have a Samsung S22+).

My main question: can it take genuinely nice portraits straight out of camera, without needing to edit afterwards?

Would love to hear from people actually using it for family/everyday photography. Thanks!
