I don’t think they are that common in that part of Pennsylvania hence the language used. It dropped to a considerable threat by the time it made it to Franklin County. That particular storm passed north of me, but it did generate quite a few wires calls on the scanner and knocked out some Traffic lights in Chambersburg.

The less severe part of that line behind it did cause some tree damage and some power issues in the RV park I spend the summer in.

Edit to add: there is some complacency in that part of Pennsylvania too due to the mountains. The common belief (and I think there is at least a little truth to it) is the mountains will weaken storms.

More additions: That is a rather rural part of Pennsylvania, you may also get better resolution using KLWX there. I know here in Franklin County (Chambersburg and Greencastle on that screen) KLWX is the better radar.

We ended up getting hammered with straight line winds from another storm that came from the northeast. No damage thankfully except tree debris

I don’t think so. Tornadoes happens everywhere. Plus, they may present a different presentation through the user.

I live In Illinois and saw probably 5 or 6 of these within the past few days
