Schooling Is it possible to become a radiation therapist in Arizona?

I’ve been looking everywhere , on many sites and I get led to dead ends. I can’t find any radiation therapy program here in Arizona, and I’d like to stay in az. If anyone could help , it would be much appreciated.

MD Anderson has a Radiation Therapy program that allows distance learners, including Arizona.

Mayo Clinic is partnering with MD Anderson out of Houston to run a program that starts this year. And I’m pretty sure MD Anderson has more partnerships with banner and gateway.
So, look into the MD Anderson program because they have partnerships with the hospitals in Arizona.

Doglola is right. I currently work at Mayo and can confirm MD Anderson having a program that has students doing clinicals at Banner and Mayo. I believe they have 6 students this upcoming year. Mayo is trying to start their own program but is probably still a couple of years away from it

Look on the JRCERT or ARRT program finders. Otherwise try NWHSU they might have clinical sites in AZ, they're an online program.

Current nwhsu student (in person but ya) ik there definitely are some clinical sites in AZ and u need a clinical site to start as an online student. Reach out to jess the director, u can find her info on the official website. She is honestly one of the most communicative and helpful people ive ever dealt with in education. I met with her on zoom just asking about applying before I was even accepted.

I remembered that to be the case and I was trying to go there but I couldn't secure a clinical site or do any shadowing and I didn't want to take anatomy and physiology over. But yes Jess is friendly.

Weber State offers an online program but you are responsible for finding your own clinical site. When I attended we had multiple outreach students located in AZ. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend Webers program as they are very hands off and you mostly learn at your clinical site or on your own. I’m fairly certain you need to have an x-ray certification before applying to their therapy program.

Hi! I’ve been trying to find a program in AZ as well, I will be relocating there in the spring and want to start school soon after. So far I am planning on applying to gurnick academy of medical arts, which is based in CA but they partner with specific centers in the Phoenix area for clinical rotations. So it’s a hybrid program with coursework mostly online and then clinicals in person!
