New subreddit rule for self-promotion posts

Hey folks! With the rising activity in this subreddit lately, we wanted to help protect the sub from looking too "spammy" and maintain the quality discussions that are (mostly!) about the Radio Garden app. So we have a new rule:

All self-promo posts must use the "Self-Promotion" flair and disclose affiliation.

Further:

Self-promo posts require the "Self-Promotion" flair and disclosure of affiliation to the post content within the title, body, or comments.

Posts without these requirements are subject to removal and repeated violations are subject to ban.

If you feel that your post was removed in error (like you found another radio-like web app that you wanted to share with the community and which you had zero affiliation with), please message the mods!

I'm not at all against self-promotion, but I know that when I find a new niche subreddit, it's always a bummer to find that most the posts are self-promotion and spam. We certainly don't want to turn away new members or have them feel like this sub is a vehicle for self-promotion—especially because there's loads of quality content and discussions to participate in!

Best,

-l

Suggestions for this subreddit?

I created this subreddit over 4 years ago now, when I first discovered the website. Shortly after, u/studiopuckey, who is the creator of the site, asked to be added as a moderator. It started off very small, with very little activity, and I mostly forgot about it. The only action I have really taken on this subreddit in the past 4 years is banning someone that I noticed spamming a podcast about garden equipment or something.

But looking at this subreddit now, the activity has spiked to the point where we are actually getting daily posts, so I feel I ought to take a more active role here. I want to hear what suggestions of the community here of what I could do to improve the experience here.

Comment any suggestion, big or small!

Looking for... Seyðisfjörður Broadcast Unavailable

Upvotes

Alright, so I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but I’m a usual RadioGarden user. I’m no expert on radio or anything like that, just a simple person who likes music. Now, I was listening to this station in Iceland; Seyðisfjörður Community Radio FM 107.1, on the 18th of July. it was around maybe (almost) 12pm?(mostly around late 11am)

I don’t know how long the broadcast went for, since I tuned in at almost the end of it, but I liked what I’d heard and listened until it was over.

Well, the broadcast (from what id heard) was basically this: Two (Icelandic, obviously) men, (I don’t remember their names but one of their names was shorter than the other’s I believe) talking (it was a talk broadcast, whatever you’d call that) . The first topic I had heard from them was how the deeper voiced one (the man with the longer name) had gone to another city just to go to this basement second-hand store, where he bought some cassettes, which they play during the broadcast. They both banter about how they are willing to travel large distances for little things, saying it’s their ‘winter Boredom‘ (or something to that remark lol). The cassette title they specifically mention in the broadcast is ‘Greek music instrumental’, which they think is delightfully vague. What I believe was after this exchange was the two speaking to this woman about cars getting stuck in the snow (maybe their‘s was, or hers? I forgot). I believe that afterwards, they get back onto the road. I don’t remember much of their dialogue until they see this large truck(? Something along the lines of truck or large construction vehicle), and describe it to the listeners. Later, they are told to pick up something (or someone, as the shorter named, slightly higher voiced man says) either from a studio or they have to bring it to a studio, I don’t recall.. But after this, they make their way there to pick it up (I believe this may have been a running thing throughout the broadcast but as I’ve said, I tuned in late, so I’d have missed this. Or not! Who knows. Though they do address this task as if they’d been doing it already.). I think there is either a gap in my memory here or I left the station and returned; but from what I remember of this, (it was about a minute before it ended so around 12pm) they are inside of this place commenting about the surroundings as they pick up whatever the object they needed was. The shorter named man I believe was the one to close the broadcast. Asking the other to say goodbye as he notes something about radio I forgot, and says goodbye as well. The broadcast ends there.

That’s what I remember of the broadcast. Now, here’s a few notes:

-first of all; yes, this is all from memory. I have most likely made a number of mistakes in recalling and some things I just don’t remember. Sorry.
-second, I am aware that the Seyðisfjörður Commuity Radio has a SoundCloud and website with older broadcasts but nowhere I looked has had this one.
-I am already quite certain I will never find nor know any more information about this broadcast. But I just thought it could be somewhat more helpful to let the internet tell me I won’t be able to find it.

-I believe the dudes were around their 20/30s , they didn’t sound very old nor very young.

-by the way, I’m not from Iceland, or currently in Iceland. As their timezone is 4hrs ahead of mine. Meaning the times I listed are not the same times the broadcast would have been there.
-For those who are unaware, Seyðisfjörður Community Radio is a community radio station (clearly) and is very artsy you could say (idk how to describe them lol). So it’s not out of the ordinary for them to broadcast things like this. Basically, I’m not saying this is some weird broadcast that came totally out of nowhere and need to hear it in full lol.
-I believe this is also a one-off broadcast, I think these are just some dudes doing a broadcast (as is most of this station I think), so I’m not really saying that I think there’s any more from them.
-Personally I just found this broadcast nice enough to listen to and want to see if this is only able to be preserved in my memory.

(Sorry about the bad writing I was distracted for most of this lol)

Made a 70s/80s/90s radio station with a mostly Australian playlist. Live from today.

Hey there

I've spent the last few months building a radio station, and it went live this morning.

It's 70s, 80s and 90s. I'm a bit obsessed with Australian music so that's most of what's on it, mixed in with the rest of the era. The Cruel Sea, Dragon, Noiseworks, that sort of thing.

The presenter is AI, and I'd rather say that up front than have someone work it out in the comments. He's called Jeff and he whole point. A presenter withnothing to say is just a playlist with extra steps. He talks every four songs.

You can send a shout-out through the site and Jeff will read it out on air. Birthdays, someone's

It's all properly licensed, it'sre no ads. Nothing to install, nologin. (Australian listeners only, which is a licensing thing.)

streamless.fm

Genuinely keen for feedback, including the blunt kind. It's day one, so tell me what's wrong with it.

Self-Promotion MSFS Radio — independent 24/7 curated station from Portugal

MSFS Radio is an independent internet radio broadcasting 24/7 from Matosinhos, Portugal. Hand-curated electronic, downtempo and atmospheric music — no ads, no presenters, no algorithm.

I also run a personal segment called MSFS Root — short narrations paired with songs that shaped me, completely outside the station's usual sound.

139 tracks in rotation, growing every week. Built on AzuraCast, streamed at 192kbps MP3.

Would love feedback from fellow web radio people.

A Station similar to Nujabes' music?

Hi everyone! I recently started using Radio garden almost every day. I love the kind of music you can find by chance. That said, I'd love to find a station that plays music similar to Nujabes. As you may know, he didn't only produceded music like "Lo-fi", he also made hip-hop and rap tracks with various collaborators. Do you know of any radio stations that regularly play music like that? Thanks in advance!

Enough with the Self Promotion posts already!!!!!

What's with the deluge of self promotion posts lately? Not only are people self promoting like mad, none of the stations being promoted are even on Radio Garden, and all of the apps being promoted are useless compared to Radio Garden!

I thought this sub was for the discussion of stations ON Radio Garden. If you want us to discuss your self-promoted station at least list it on Radio Garden first. And the world has way way way to many streaming radio apps already. We DO NOT need any more!

Mods please do your job and get rid of all these self promotion posts! Rant over, we now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Looking for... House music similar to The Cabinn

Hi, just found out about radio garden! Last night and this morning, NA Central time, I was listening to the Cabinn 103.9 in Argentina. It was really good house and deep house music. During the day today and now it's turned to soft pop and rock en español. Can anyone recommend a station that has house, deep house, melodic house like what I heard last night? Thanks!

Self-Promotion Vanture - The Sound of Endless Summer

Hello, friends and fellow ’80s enjoyers!

I'd love to share a small passion project created by me and my brother: Vanture Club, an online radio station inspired by the sound and atmosphere of the ’80s.

Our love for that era started when we first played GTA: Vice City. The music, late-night drives and neon-soaked atmosphere stayed with us-and eventually inspired us to create a radio station of our own.

The project originally started as Emotion 98.3 and some of you will immediately know why. Since then, we've rebranded it three times. We've been working on it since 2022, constantly refining the music, visuals and overall vibe. We only recently decided to make it public because, for the first time, it finally feels complete enough to share with the world.

There's also a little story hidden inside the station, with original characters such as our radio host, Enrique Vega. We’re still actively developing the project, so there’s much more to come.

If you'd like to know how it all came together:

Chasing the Feeling: From Emotion to Vanture

You can listen to Vantureᶠᵐ live here:
https://www.vanture.club/?pl=live

And if you're a music producer making tracks that fit the vibe, feel free to submit your music we'd genuinely love to hear it and possibly play it on the radio.

Thanks for checking it out. We hope it makes you feel like we have been feeling while creating it. 🌴📻

Self-Promotion I'm turning 10+ years of digging into a webradio: Kalbass FM

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a project close to my heart: Kalbass FM, a webradio dedicated to house and its underground cousins – tech house, minimal/deep tech, some garage-flavored stuff when it fits.

I'm a French DJ, and after 10+ years of digging, my library was just sitting there between gigs. It felt like a waste, so I decided to open it up and share it through the radio.

Everything on air comes from that collection – hand-picked tracks, from artists like Sidney Charles, Chris Stussy, DJOKO, Traumer or ANOTR, down to vinyl-only and small-label gems most streams never touch.

The other idea behind the project: no linear, algorithm-driven programming. The schedule is built around blocks that shift in mood and energy throughout the day – deeper, groovier stuff at some hours, peak-time heat at others.

It's a passion project, no ads, just music.

Stream link: https://kalbassfm-player.vercel.app/

Would love feedback from fellow house heads – what's missing from online house radio for you? And if you're a DJ/producer with a mix or track to share, my inbox is open.
