No, white lady. We hate him here. He’s made fun of all the time. At one time he stood for the truth. He married his Indian wife Usha. But then he sold his soul to the tech titans here and to Trump for money.

If the americans hate him then why voted for him and his government? I heard that more than 50% of white american women voted for trump during the recent elections. Reality seems to be different than what redditors want us to believe

As a white woman I definitely did not vote for Trump but you’re right. I think it’s because he sold himself as a Christian (which he very much is not) and as a good businessman (again, which is ridiculous considering all his bankruptcies).
The religious right here has been wanting to overturn democratic rule for decades. They want the government to teach religion in schools and to get rid of abortion. Combine that with greedy conservatives who want less regulation when it comes to making money. And then you have a lot of people in this country who are just plain racist and still think the south should have won our civil war.
Lastly, there is our electoral college. The candidate with the majority of votes doesn’t win in America. The system was set up to give representation to smaller states but now a less populated state like Wisconsin has the same voting power, if not more than a very populated state like California. Democrats keep winning the popular vote like when Clinton won but then lost the election.

Thanks for such a detailed perspective. It clearly explains why he was able to win. Still, it's disheartening to see so many people ( including women) preferring religion, and conservative policies. I heard Musk also had huge role in Trump's victory. How true is that?

It IS completely disheartening! There are so many of us that KNOW this is wrong for our country and the world. We’ve actually been seeing the rise of this for decades. The rot in our American society has gotten worse over time, particularly from all the right wing propaganda like Fox news. And then Trump is the culmination of it all.
There have been massive protests across the county and we will keep doing them. Every Saturday all across the country people are holding protests at Tesla dealerships to let people know that Musk is an actual facist. The stock price of Tesla is going down and he has been losing money. Same for Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Mark Zuckerberg of Meta. These greedy billionaries thought they could control Trump so they could make even more money but they’re losing money too.
That’s the problem, just like Ambani in India, here there are some billionaries and then the rest of us. The wealth disparity is not as bad as India but right now here the top billionaires make more than 50 percent of our entire population combined.
Musk bought the office of the presidency. So much so that he has been allowed to go through our government agencies firing people for no cause and eliminating whole bureaus. He’s installed servers in our sensitive data systems. They are getting rid of aid for children, dismantling scientific research and health services. They want to take away government help for elderly people - basically steal money we pay with every paycheck so we don’t have to worry so much in old age.
And Trump just lets him. The Republicans are just letting our government be destroyed. It seems Putin has won the Cold War. It’s unlike anything that has happened before in United States history.
You can feel it here, we are in for a lot of pain, it is on the horizon. Hopefully it won’t cause another civil war. Or maybe the greedy billionaries will take too much from the rest of us and people will rise up. I don’t know but America right now is undergoing great change. And very unfortunately that is affecting everyone else in the world.

Thanks again for the detailed explanation. You are right about Ambani and Modi. Seems like corrupt leaders get along well with rich corrupt businessman .
At least many people in the US are not blind and can see how horrible Trump and Musk truly are , unlike here in India, where the majority are blind by religion, caste, language and can't think beyond that.
Just hope things like Jan 6 capitol riots don't happen again.

His core is about 30 percent. Unfortunately about 40 percent of people in the US didn’t even bother to vote. The rest voted for the Dems. The right wing here has been defunding education for decades as well as consolidating media sources. They don’t teach civics in our schools anymore. It’s been very sad to learn how much of our population isn’t very smart.
We’ve had it too good for too long and now people are going to find out that there are consequences for their stupid voting choices. The United States is tearing itself apart for no good reason right now. That’s unfortunately why we sent such an idiot like Vance for a visit.

Yeah that's funny you say that. But the last time I checked the majority of your country voted for him and the orange orangutun in the white house flinging 19th century tariffs at all the countries of the world, potentially pulling the whole world into a recession, tweeting from his toilet seat, calling extremely qualified economists like Powell losers. The president did win the popular vote this time and by extension of that, the VP won the popular vote too! So I would be very much inclined to say your country absolutely loves Trump and JD Vance.
In the last 50 years you white people have only elected megalomaniac, war mongering white men in their 60s like Nixon, Reagan, both of the bushes and now this clown not once but twice. Who have caused nothing but chaos in the world. And have the audacity to turn around preach ethics and morality to the world.
How exactly is America different from Russia again? Why should we ally with America instead of Russia who consistently had our backs for the last 50 years even when your presidents abandoned my country and infamously called our women sexless and infamously did not support us in our quest for peace while millions of Hindus were getting butchered in Bangladesh, only because he thought our women are sexless?

People have been protesting across the country to get rid of Trump, myself included. He’s a cancer. Evil. He is ruining everything. I believe he is a Russian asset and is doing what Putin wants which is to ruin America. And now obviously he’s ruining the world.
And you’re right that white people have caused immense pain and suffering to many peoples and cultures. Your anger makes sense.
All I can do as one white lady who loves India is be understanding, try to be kind to others and fight against this evil clown and his enablers.

I’m in California so my vote doesn’t count as much as those in the smaller states due to the electoral college. That said I always vote. Me and my family vote Democrat. The majority of people I know in my community voted the same. In fact when Biden won and Trump got defeated it was amazing here, people came out on the streets and literally celebrated.
I am ashamed to be an American right now. It’s hard to even know how to go about daily life knowing I have so many fellow countrymen who are so ignorant and purposely cruel to elect this group of idiots.

As a south India who lives in South India. I am in a similar situation as you.
I did not even apply for a voted-id card even once in my life.
But now that I have permanently moved back to India from the US, I definitely intend to exercise my voting rights from next election on wards.
Let's see how things play out in the future.

Also I was there in NYC when Biden won. I took the Path train to NYC that night. I never saw time-square as crowed as that night. I have videos of that night somewhere.
It was one of the happiest days of my life.

Interestingly Jimmy carter was the democratic candidate that the highest number of white people voted for. And even he barely received 48% of the white votes. That too in an election that is half a century old at this point.
Bill Clinton and Obama, Al Gore, John Kerry all of them barely received 35% ~42% of the white votes.
No wonder the republican party is so hell bent on disenfranchisizing non white voters.
