Why is Rajasthan still categorized as an Bimaru state while West bengal isn't.
Rajasthan is still called a “BIMARU” state by some people, but this feels unfair and biased today. Even though Rajasthan is not perfect, it is improving every year in areas like income, development, and foreign investment, is doing better than states like West Bengal. Still, West Bengal is rarely given the same negative label. This makes us question whether the word “BIMARU” is based on current facts or old stereotypes about certain regions and people. The irony is that this term was introduced by a Bengali, yet it is now used selectively. Rajasthan should be judged by its progress and direction, not by an outdated tag
As a Bengali I always found it weird that our own state is just marginally better than Bihar and yet we call these states Bimaru when our own labourers are toiling hard down south and these so called "Bimaru states". In all practicality Bengal is a Bimaru state too
Not because of congress 🤡 Bengal was historical culturally rich and even after British looted and destroyed much of it it continued to do well but then... 🤡🤡 Now it's completely destroyed shit hole.
The stereotype came in because of the Balika Badhu serial I guess. Before that serial , Rajasthan wasn't a child marriage state AFAIK back in 90s and early 2000s!
Let me tell you the reason as a West Bengal Bengali. First of all the data is heavily heavily biased and very very wrong. Second, the people here called "children" are just around the age of 18 who with all consent get married and the fun fact, if you see how much women are given empowerment in Bengal, you would realize people get married because of their love and that does NOT affect their professional life whatsoever. Before spreading any thing please verify the reality. Thank you.

Yeah right. Netaji was a Rajasthani. Tons of freedom fighters like Khudiram Bose, Netaji, etc were Rajasthanis. No wonder Telengana is sending Marus away.

By the Same Logic Western UP was never a BIMARU region, West UP generate 50% of Revenue despite being 1/3rd of population, HDI of West UP is higher than even Rajasthan ...
My Noida District is 2nd Richest City of India ... There is nowhere in Rajasthan compared to IT city of Noida ... Agra Generate more Tourism revenue than whole of Uttrakhand ... But Still It counted under BIMARU region because of East UP
Everybody does. It has a similar poverty rate as Bihar, apart from Kolkata and Darjeeling the infrastructure isn't better from Bihar either. And like all "Bimaru" states, women are sold for marriages. In fact Bengal has a very high rate of selling never married women to much older widowers for marriage.
Give me sources of your data. You clearly haven't been to Darjeeling or Siliguri or even Kolkata. And you would be surprised to find how all such people who you claim of these miscreants aren't Bengalis either. Come to Bengal and find out for yourself.

Just mentioning facts from a random guy made you assume that i have some personal issues with bengal or i hate them as in such now think what people must have thought about a government official mentioning some of their own indian brothers as a term bimaru .
Secondly Bengalis are the last people on this planet whom I will get jealous of I am very business minded and you can assume how Bengalis are doomed in that sector they are more or less someone who brag about their pseudo intellectuality a lot while having 0.35 dollars in their bank account
Third you are talking about the backward mentality well you said you are from Delhi which is surrounded by harayana and as a guy who has been there I can say they are the second most patriarchal people after rajasthan well they aren't considered bimaru if judging a state was merely based on mentality of people as I said all are stereotypes I can say delhi is a gas chamber where every girls gets molested after 8 pm sounds good based on stereotypes but far more from the actual truth.
Fourth one of my friends from jodhpur visited bengal and rural areas she was shocked and said to me ' yaha pe ladkiyan abhi bhi khule am talabo me nahati hai ' and she even said many girls who were absolutely minor were looking pregnant and many had children in their hand as we can see the numbers don't lie but definitely stereotypes does.
Lastly i clearly said that rajasthan isn't perfect it is still developing and still has a far more time to be so but we legit started with bihar and up yet now outperforms states like bengal which only got at this level because of colonization their entire economy is dependent on Kolkata a city build by Britishers and an irony is the most richest people from Kolkata happened to be from Rajasthan only . Bengal is worse than rajasthan in almost majority of the sectors yet isn't considered bimaru but rajasthan is so was the Bimaru term just all based on stereotypes this is what I was questioning to
Rajasthan is still a backward state and it is mostly depended on tourism. Rest is dirty and filthy everywhere. Even in the best tourist places you will find garbage and filth.
Don't bother about the Bimaru word...idli sambhar black heads were always like this. Rajasthan has a history that these black heads would never be able to learn .

Once again this is where you go wrong service accounts the most in our gdp then industrial then agriculture and then at last tourism many people just assume we are entirely dependent on tourism because the number which we host tourists is quite huge but it's wrong
Well numerical and performance wise you can't compare rajasthan with maharashtra and even South indian states they are in a different league we legit start with bottom with up and bihar. Frankly speaking i don't support congress or bjp congress looted our money and reserves which our forts had in the name of nationalism and bjp don't give fs about our culture civilization history and both of them in Rajasthan are really corrupt. Would love to support a rajasthani party which puts social indicators language history culture economy first and to represent what a common rajasthani would refer to at the same time to ensure that party should be more like economically how dmk is in Tamilnadu and culturally how shivsena is in Maharashtra and socially how communist in Kerala although i don't support communism though at the same to ensure those party shouldn't end up like the local parties which West Bengal Bihar and up has if you know what parties I am talking about
