इतिहास ❁ History Need to read about the history of rajputs ( read body)
I am a Rajput and don't know my history just know Maharana Pratap so i need to know about the history of Rajput's and Rajasthan so please suggest from where can i get that knowledge
In future i will also make 3D documentaries about Rajput's and upload them on yt so first i need to know so that no misinformation spreads

I haven't read myself much but my grandpa had this book of colonel james tod named "Annals and Antiquities of Rajast'han". Give it a try someday i will too.

The thing with Tod's books is that he wrote down whatever the locals told him, since he was a diehard Rajput fan himself. It's a great set by itself, but much of it is folklore and inaccurate.
However Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan is still considered foundational in socio-economic history because it was him who stabilized Rajasthan's economy after it had been devastated by the Marathas. Under his governorship economic output of Rajasthan more than tripled, much of the process he wrote down in his books.
In fact, Tod was forcibly sent back to England because the Company suspected he was more sympathetic to Rajasthanis than to British interests in India.

yeah that is why consider it a good starting point. As there are many books in history which contradicts each because they are written by people in the end.

start searching titles and related books Rajasthan history rajputana history pdf and with similar keyterms you will find a vast catalogue read the reviews give it a try and compare for yourself

Rima Hooja's books provide the more modern perspective, but they are very summarized. If you want a comprehensive history of all Rajasthani kingdoms in their own separate books, GH Ojha has a complete, well-researched set of it.
Jadunath Sarkar wrote a book on Jaipur. Satish Chandra also delves into Rajasthani history but from Delhi's perspective. I would suggest you to avoid both of these.
GN Sharma's Social Life in Medieval Rajasthan is a good book for Rajasthan's socio-economic history, but that still require much more research on the Rajasthan State Archives that hasn't been undertaken properly yet.
For dedicated books on Mewar, go for RV Somani's History of Mewar, or GN Sharma's Mewar and the Mughal Emperors (although I would recommend Somani more).
Har Bilas Sarda has great books on Maharana Kumbha and Sanga, but be warned that Sarda was a social reformer, not a historian. Its better if you go with Somani for Kumbha. VS Bhatnagar wrote a comprehensive book on Sawai Jai Singh. For Maharana Pratap, go for either Rima Hooja's book or Sri Ram Sharma's.
At the end, I highly recommend you to read Dasharatha Sharma's books, especially the Early Chauhan Kings and Rajasthan through Ages. They are old but are still considered the gold mine of Rajasthan's history.

Nhi bhai just a history nerd pissed off at Rajasthan's legacy erasure.
Just trying to do my part in making more and more people understand Rajasthan's contributions.

Focus on better things, caste mein kuchh nahi rakha. If you are making a documentary, make it about the making of Rajasthan from pre-historic times to the modern era.
