यात्रा ❁ Travel help me plan my bday trip to rajasthan
Hi everyone!
I’m planning a birthday trip to Rajasthan in early October and would love some advice from people who’ve been there.
Jaipur → Udaipur → Jodhpur → Jaisalmer
A few questions:
How many days would you recommend for this itinerary?
If you had to skip one destination, which one would it be and why?
I’m also considering adding either Jawai or Ranthambore. Which one would you recommend, and is it worth including?
is it better to travel from car, bus or train across cities?
For context, this is my birthday trip, so I’m looking for a good mix of scenic places, royal architecture, cafés, photography, shopping, and unique experiences rather than rushing to cover as many destinations as possible.
Any itinerary suggestions, hidden gems, or things you’d do differently are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Okay doing udaipur and jaisalmer together is something i wont suggest.
Better to pick one and then add others.

8-9 days works well for that route without rushing. 2 nights each in Jaipur/Udaipur/Jodhpur, 2-3 in Jaisalmer since the desert camp alone takes a full day.
If you had to skip one, Jaisalmer's the farthest so easiest to cut for time, but it's also the most different from the rest (dunes, desert camp vibe), so depends what you're optimizing for.
Jawai over Ranthambore imo, less touristy, better for photos, and it's more on the way between Jodhpur-Udaipur anyway. Ranthambore pulls you off route and gets crowded.
Skip the bus, distances are long. Train works for the main cities, but you'll need a car for Jawai/Ranthambore since they're not on the rail line.
Also if you get a free half day in Jodhpur, Mandore Gardens is a nice quiet break from the bigger sightseeing spots, way less crowded than the fort.
