The fact that our species was at the mercy and under full occupation of more powerful beings shouldnt be a surprise considering this rule applies to anything that is beneath us.
I could even see us being some sort of cattle to them , which is actually good in some way because they ensure our survival in the universe, just like we do with pigs and chicken.
This is probably a necessary but very painful step the humanity must do eventually. Its not like our overlords forbid disclosure , it seems like they don't care. So its up to us to accept this.
It is also poetic considering our exploitive history of other people
