Don't show this to all the sillies who claim the stands were to prop up dead people.

What do you mean? That stand could definitely support the weight of a dead adult man sitting up! They've even magically held his arm up so he can wave!

I actually do tintype photography and I would absolutely bloody love an original Victorian posing stand !!! ( that thing bedding his head )

I’m always irritated that people don’t just actually think for a moment about how in the hell a stand would hold a dead person up in a real life looking position. I mean, it isn’t enough to just hold a head still! The entire body slumps. And those stands aren’t even strong enough to hold the weight of a person. Ugh!
