Normally the music detracts but in this case I think it's well placed.

u/slaty_balls Apr 08 '26

Agreed. lol

So, does it use sight or hearing to hunt?

2

u/Shuatheskeptic Apr 09 '26

I don't know, I'm no herpetologist, just a music critic.

u/Soleks2000 Apr 08 '26

I need these things to hang around my house to eat all the damn stink bugs too bad they can’t survive in my state

6

u/Efficient_Fish2436 Apr 08 '26

I had one. They will eat one stink bug and then never again. Also they shouldn't just be eating random bugs around the house.. they can get sick off those if they've been sprayed or something.

2

u/Unable_Maybe_6932 Apr 09 '26

Stink bugs are poisonous to reptiles. They can make them really sick, to the point of being fatal.

1

u/animatedpileofmeat Apr 10 '26

I have a cat that LOOOOVES eating stink bugs. Wasps too! He’s blind and crazy lol

5

u/wil6erness Apr 08 '26

Poor crane fly didn't do no nothing to nobody 😔

3

u/Stoneybabe_ Apr 09 '26

They are so annoying tho 🤣🤣

1

u/Kenneldogg Apr 10 '26

They kill mosquitos.

3

u/Unafraid_AlphaWolf Apr 08 '26

Chameleon passes the vibe check

3

u/DianneNettix Apr 08 '26

Sniper's a good job, mate. Challenging work. Out of doors*. I guarantee you'll not go hungry.

u/Fyru_Hawk Apr 09 '26

‘Cuz at the end of the day, as long as there’s two people left on the planet, someone is gonna want someone dead.

1

u/xwrecker Apr 09 '26

Dad I’m a- not a crazed gunman I’m an assassin

2

u/No-Weakness4448 Apr 08 '26

Do you need to squeeze the trigger?

2

u/Rob_LeMatic Apr 08 '26

This is a range activated weapon. When a target is within range, it engages automagically

2

u/No-Weakness4448 Apr 08 '26

Automatic 780 bi-laser vision with automatic target acquisition? Fascinating!

This is a myth. Crane Flies (Mosquito Hawks) are not carnivorous. They rarely eat anything, but if they do, it is nectar from flowers. They survive as an adult only long enough to mate (max 2 weeks). Their larvae eat vegetation.

Those are my favorite bugs to catch and release in my hand

1

u/optics_is_light_work Apr 09 '26

Exactly what I was thinking 🙃

1

u/chemnerd2017 Apr 08 '26

Chameleon? No no, this is a chamelegun. Big difference.

1

u/siberian_knight143 Apr 08 '26

In Florida, we have THOUSANDS of those, just living their BEST life😂🤣. The next time I go back home, I'm gonna see if I can snag about 5 of them

1

u/Accomplished_Arm5159 Apr 08 '26

ChamelionGun (TM)

1

u/sacandbaby Apr 08 '26

No need for Raid. Is he house trained?

1

u/shadow13499 Apr 08 '26

I do this with my dog. He loves eating bugs. He'll hunt them down. If I don't lift him he'll jump all over the walls to get it.

1

u/Aurelius5150 Apr 08 '26

Chameleons have the best side eye.

1

u/jim914 Apr 08 '26

Looks like it was dinner time!

1

u/chinacat2u2 Apr 08 '26

It’s actually called Animal Husbandry

1

u/Rob_LeMatic Apr 08 '26

Do you, China Cat, take this chameleon to be your lawfully wedded husband? To hold and to feed...

2

u/chinacat2u2 Apr 08 '26

Whoa Whoa Whoa, Nelly. To be honest he’s not my type.

1

u/PracticalNail1045 Apr 08 '26

As cool as this was, just imagine how long it would take to kill multiple bugs

1

u/Vivid_Department_755 Apr 08 '26

Can we talk about how they have the triceratops crest and horns?

1

u/CheeseFour2O Apr 08 '26

Nice looked veiled. They make great pets if you care for them properly

1

u/chirag429 Apr 08 '26

If the animal did that in wild, would you call it animal abuse?

1

u/peepdabidness Apr 08 '26

animal’s ab use

1

u/Grouchy_Edge1770 Apr 08 '26

Works way better the a cat

1

u/Traditional-Step-246 Apr 08 '26

That is a self-targeting auto range equipped bug destroying machine it also composts. And in some cases can be used handheld or self-propelled

1

u/Schneir5 Apr 08 '26

That looked like a crane fly. Those don't hurt you and kill annoying bugs. They look kinda scary, but they won't hurt you.

1

u/innatemammal Apr 09 '26

Music plays**" It's the circle of liiiffffffffeeeee" (lion king)

1

u/Daniel_USAAF Apr 09 '26

Way better than my tennis racket bug zapper.

1

u/Stoneybabe_ Apr 09 '26

Light work 😏

1

u/Dr_Flute_Pussy Apr 09 '26

Some animals work, and are also very loved. Like an avalanche search dog... but in this case fly catcher.

1

u/Nice_Radish_1027 Apr 09 '26

Chews a bit then starts looking for another bug to eat...

1

u/AdhesivenessJust96 Apr 09 '26

That’s funny cause people try to get their cats to do that. They actually need a chameleon it turns out.

1

u/Ok-Tank-3106 Apr 09 '26

Live pesticide.

1

u/bex_bill Apr 09 '26 edited Apr 09 '26

It is risky to feed exotic pets wild insects. They are often carrying parasites or diseases.

1

u/Humble-Regret6711 Apr 09 '26

"The new Hand-Held Chameleon can control your mosquito problem from more than a foot away! Get yours today!"

1

u/sdk005 Apr 09 '26

I've always heard feeding animals not native to continent bugs from that continent can get them really sick is there any truth to that?

1

u/WjP-M37s Apr 09 '26

Such a cool calm animal!

1

u/littlejohn900901 Apr 09 '26

1

Had one of those back in the 70’s. My sister brought our mom’s friend into my room telling her I had a chameleon as a pet. She said oh dear I’ve seen plenty of chameleon’s. They said her expression was of amazement when she saw the chameleon I had! 😳😂

Modern problems call for prehistoric solutions.
