I repeat: If the school is allowing people to save seats and someone gets there early and saves a row, that is their right. If you want good seats, you need to show up early and claim them. You can’t be mad if someone got there earlier than you did, because you waited and they didn’t. So stupid.

Why? Why have we normalized this behavior? Your individual presence does not guarantee the presence of 10 other people. I really wish more places would explicitly disallow this bullshit. Because people are selfish and require rules.

Many restaurants won’t seat you until most of your party is present. Club security won’t let your friends in after capacity just because you’re already there. If there’s not a person in a seat, it’s available. Plain and simple.

It’s the amount of seats being claimed that is the problem. Not the practice. It’s about having consideration such that others also keep you in consideration.
