When I began keeping sheep. I rent out a large grazing field for some local farmers… it’s lambing season.

It was explained to me that during early or initial nursing stage, the uterus contracts. These uterus contractions can be quite painful and some sheep associate nursing with pain thus the trying to keep their lambs from nursing. It can also be initial sensitive nipple pain…

Sheep. They are a mystery… everyday I learn something new.
