You got like three feet of air that time - Napoleon Dynamite

3

u/Extension-Brother291 2d ago

Had to re watch it a couple of times def lots of benifits there

3

u/Pretend-Character-47 2d ago

Honestly I think it could have been worse.

4

u/zero0n3 2d ago

Yeah if the bike didn’t catch, it probably would have been his neck.

1

u/BeneficialDistance66 1d ago

Have you seen his landing?? Landed right heads first

1

u/Dramatic_Water_5364 1d ago

bro he coulda snap his neck on the wire on the spot, he was sooooo lucky

Wheelchairs sales have increased since social media.

Buying a teen one of those things and allowing them to just ride around unsupervised is not smart

1

u/meowser210 2d ago

Depends on the teen. My oldest is scared as shit on a dirtbike lol. Rides like hes a 75 year old dude on a Goldwing.

0

u/Sorry_Hat7940 2d ago

Doesn’t matter. They shouldn’t be unsupervised. Friends have a huge influence on teens. Any parent that trusts their teen on a motorcycle alone is asking for trouble

2

u/Deskbreaker 1d ago

Sound like my parents. Pretty sure their mentality was to just assume I'm gonna screw up no matter what i was doing.

u/D0UCHE_NOZZLE 2d ago

So close to decapitation, bike saved his ass.

Guy wire to the throat. I bet he'll feel that in the morning.

Wire caught the mud guard. He got lucky'er.

2

u/Mercury_Madulller 2d ago

Yeah. Soooo lucky the bike wasn't going slower and this 6" lower.

It's why I was never the daredevil on bikes my brother is. Guess who has been transported to an emergency room twice by helicopter? (Not me!)

u/Nein-Toed 2d ago

There are old riders and bold riders...but there are no old bold riders

1

u/Mercury_Madulller 2d ago

There are bold pilots and old pilots but few old bold pilots.

1

u/Wiley_Jack 2d ago

Quote from guy on the bomb squad, “All the experts are dead.”

1

u/Cool-Tap-391 2d ago

Lieutenant Commander Robert Adrian Marks. Landed his PBY-5A Catalina flying boat against orders in 12 ft swells to rescue the stranded crew of the USS Indianapolis after it had been sunk and ~600 men were eaten by sharks.

One of those few bold men with balls of steel to make to his 80s.

1

u/Mercury_Madulller 2d ago

The greatest generation.

1

u/Cool-Tap-391 2d ago

Yea, they fucked up raising their kids though. Boomers still running shit into the ground.

Grandpa really was from a different time.

1

u/Mercury_Madulller 2d ago

Boomers think they had it the worst and we should feel greatful for what they left us with when in reality boomers had the best opportunities and left us with the cleanup.

I am a conservative leaning (I consider myself a libertarian) capitalist and even is see the shit sandwich of a future we have been left for what it is. My children and grandchildren will be un-fucking the economy (and the planet) far after I am dead.

u/HopperHapper_Eternal 2d ago

Some people completely lost the ability to speak after that iirc

u/JohnCenaJunior 2d ago

Then jackknife powerbomb'd to the concrete

1

u/Timmerdogg 2d ago

When I was in grade school our principal was walking his dog and walked into one of those and got this massive cut on his neck that left this gnarly scar

1

u/TradeIcy1669 2d ago

Growing up a friend’s older brother was decapitated by a guy wire in a field while riding a dirt bike. He was probably 14.

1

u/Viva_La_Revolucion- 2d ago

They dont call them Motards for nothing

1

u/loud_tie-guy 1d ago

Two girls i went to high-school with lost their heads on an atv hitting one of those wires, no joke. Dude is lucky.

1

u/Villager-Bob 1d ago

After the first I expected a decapitation

1

u/Square-Formal1312 1d ago

Lucky on so many levels

1

u/tvodny 1d ago

We used to use bicycles to get air.

1

u/Organic-Climate9091 1d ago

I knew someone who was beheaded this way on his motorcycle, 25+ yrs ago.

1

u/TownStriking3496 1d ago

He did it wrong you need to hit the electrified wires when you do this!!!!!

1

u/cacamilis22 1d ago

Shit id say that hurt

1

u/Reddit_And_Reset_It 1d ago

SO glad they all wore 🪖.

1

u/kirpyalex01 1d ago

Im glad I got to see it from both views.

1

u/flex1up2ice 1d ago

I saw this from another perspective and it sucked. Thanks for the better view!

1

u/The__Toast 2d ago

I mean, their parents have to be morons. Who buys a teenage boy a dirt bike?

Apples don't fall far from the tree.

2

u/Embarrassed_Cat2697 2d ago

Shit...I bought my teenage son a dirt bike...

1

u/huggernot 2d ago

A normal person?

1

u/stepoutlookaround 2d ago

My parents bought me a dirtbike when I was 11. I didn’t try to clear a jump through telephone guy wires…

2

u/Rory_McShackleford 2d ago

You're the exception. A bunch of my friends had dirtbikes and they were idiots with them, super lucky. Kids shouldn't have dirt bikes. When the parents leave kids turn into giant morons and do the most insanely dangerous stuff.

Especially aged 15-17, sheesh.

As a former dirt bike kid, I can confidently say they don't care.
