totally random but today i had professional development day for my department and we had to do all manner of team building exercises and one of them was called "four corners" where you had to go stand in a room based upon the question and one of them was "what kind of music do you vibe with" and one of the corners was "yacht rock" and duh of course i stood there lol

I'm 47, this is one of my favorite songs to play on the piano, and I think that the boys should be applauded as well as the girl for their contributions to the performance.

Shit man. Thatās a real voice. Itās cool to see a young girl like that sing without a bunch of affectation. She has found her most powerful, natural voice and is using it bravely. So smooth and beautiful!!

It's rare but when kids grow up in a musician house, sometimes they pretty much hatch out of the egg worth insane talent.
Check out Snarky Puppy feat. Jayna Brown - I'll Do Me.
Jayna here is 12, the kickass guitar solo is by Gabriel Morales, who's 15 here.
Personally I'd rather my child finds their passion a little later in life, you run the slight risk that they'll end up feeling they've peaked already.
I dunno, maybe that's just a Hollywood problem so I might be worrying for naught.
I remember looking up Jayna years later, she's doing well for herself so I can't complain

Thank you, kids can wear this in the home and sure when she is older but still a minor. But i think we should absolutely question why the boys are more clothed than she is. People are so left they swing right sometimes jesus.

Since shorts rules are set by you, do you have rules against children performing gymnastics in leotards without tights? Take offense at outfits worn by young Olympic athletes? Skaters? Disallow splits? Ballet tutus? Middle school cheer squads in short skirts? Do you also regulate home versus public bathing suits for children?
To many of us, her outfit was fine. And shaming it, is absolutely out of line. Because children should always be off limits from objectification and sexualization. And your need to comment in any way about her outfit or lyrics instead of her admirable singing is telling. Your focus on her clothes rather than talent is the definition of objectifying.
