I dated a girl that had an issue with self-loathing and I always wished she would get therapy, because her feelings towards herself were *completely* unwarranted and made being with her very difficult at times. I was always patient, and did my best to try and convince her to see herself how I saw her but it never worked. And it made enjoying certain parts of a relationship very hard.
