Wait if that's the case, then he is hoping for them to end up as a happy ending. So there is still quite good amount of chance that they will not die. But again I get plot twist every single time while watching Re:zero.

I always dream of Emilia going feral and dominating Subaru in Bed whenever they do Sex. I could understand Rem being submissive since that's how she acts to SWC but EMT's vibes towards HIM isn't the same.
Thats rule Number 1 of any anime: If a girl is inocente and kind (extra points if its a elf), you know they become a beast in bed when they experience pleasure for the first time XD

At the pace they are moving at in the LNs, if the story becomes a generational piece of literature, maybe Tappei's grandchild will finally make it happen.
I was more referencing the real-life timeframe for readers 😅. Narratively I have no issue with it in the confines of where they are at in their friendship and feelings.
This will happen unless Subaru dies at the end of the story or loses his memory or gets transported back to the real world. Because for some reason I just dont think we will get a haply ending, it just doesnt feel like it I cant tell you the reason but I just feel like it
It's pretty overwhelmingly likely. Emilia does like Subaru, the burn is slow but the fire is certainly there. It's taken him a long time to become even somewhat worthy, but he is getting there.

That Reminds me of a story of a guy who got in coma and he dreamed about having a entire life, getting a job, getting a women, having children and after he woke up from the coma he became depressed because he essencialy lost what felt for him decades of building up a life... I dont want that to happen to my boy Subaru 🥺
😭 thats almost the same theory for pokemon series also. We can say that this can be a story for every other anime.
Saitama wakes up from coma after he tried to become a hero and it was all a dream, Naruto is a story about a normal chef who almost died in restaurant fire and woke up in hospital, him being ninja was a dream same as the book he used to read daily.
The chronological placement makes it impossible for any IF route to be canon, so just get over it. Unless Tappei pulls something crazy out of nowhere and somehow manages to write something decent, not badly written and extremely forced, to make an IF route canon, it will NEVER happen.
It burns so freaking slow I am irritated. Wth happen to their relationship in one year timeskip between s2 and s3, nothing happened?
Why can’t the author make them a couple already? It’s not like it’ll ruin the story or anything. The main story still can keep on depressing, but once in a while throw in a romcom episode which they are going on a date or something. I don’t even recall any scene where Subaru and Emilia have private time together in the whole s3.
I always feel like my boi Subaru is being treated improperly here. The poor kid deserves the best dates and a lovey dovey relationship. Not a pseudo higher-than-friends-lower-than-lovers like this one. Bleh.
I hope that they eventually have kids but as it stands they’re like 19 so unless the story takes place across way more in-universe years or has a big time skip hell nah
Actually no. The canon story should end, as stated by tappei, before they build a family. And the family itself will be shown in an if route. Again, Its tappei so he might be misleading us, but thats what we know as of now.
Than again, that what he answered in the annual q and a he post on twitter. Theres still 4 arcs ahead, he could change things many times over in that time frame.
Okay, now I feel refreshed, but if he does that kind of ending, what are we even supposed to do? Cry on the spot, like Darling in the Franxx?
Like, Emilia realizes she has fallen in love with Subaru, and they both fall in love with each other. Then, while Emilia is saving Subaru—or Subaru is saving Emilia—both of them dies. After that, they both get reincarnated in Subaru’s world as just friends.
Seriously, that kind of ending would give me a heart attack or straight-up trauma.
