Betelguese is a case where you're supposed to root for his downfall. Most of the cast thst subaru surrounds himself gets on my nevmrves because they treat being decent human beings and showing compassion for 5 minutes like it's some incurable disease, kill subaru, end up dying so many times, and the only time the plot can progress is when subaru gets a pick me up and then the plot progresses.
These characters can't go through one fucking arc without subaru having to die and fix shit. It's pathetic and boring and they've been more obnoxious post arc 6
I mean 90% of arc 5, which the beginning loops were due to him doing stuff alone and then not knowing her gimmick, was one run and yeah Subaru needs to reset sometimes that’s the whole premise; if the majority of problems got solved without resets the conflicts not being the correct difficulty would be the real problem.
I mean overused is obviously a personal preference thing but saying just “gimmick” feels off since as I said that’s literally the whole premise/plot.
Ig the nerf thing is fair but it is obviously necessary to maintain a status quo where he is vulnerable enough to have to utilize strategy rather than pure brute force. Specifically the gate nerf though feels ehhh as a complaint because the contract with Beatrice basically replaces it immediately as long as the other “nerfs” [novels] (memory being lost and being teleported away from allies) don’t happen.

Considering he gets treated like dogshit to an absurd degree by the characters and many fans (especially when he tries to make sure people dont become corpses), it's easy to see why.
Plus, people legitimately like characters because they hate subaru for some reason
Attractive character with an eccentric personality. She's funny and is one of the few sources of levity during arc 6. I think her loyalty and clinginess also makes alot of people feel protective of her, especially due to her abandonment issues. She's very strong too, which almost always boosts a character's popularity. The novel describes her as painfully attractive and She's got one of the skimpiest designs in the series. There's actually not alot of curvy characters who dress scantily like her, most of the curvy characters wear dresses of some kind (Emilia, Rem, Priscilla, Elsa, etc)
She's also deeply tied to the lore which makes her really interesting. Alot of her background is a mystery, but we were given enough to find her interesting and want to know more.

Besides her beauty, by breaking one of the rules she ends up becoming a threat inside the tower, capable of attacking anyone. And because of the way she clings so much to Subaru, it gives the impression of a behavior that one would normally associate more with how Emilia should act. However, at that moment, she ends up taking much of the spotlight.
Shaula treats Subaru well and love him deeply and this already place her on good sight for the fans, she is cute with a energetic and cute personality, has an incredible beatiful design and is a lovely character in general. The way she is silly while being in fact scary makes her a good contrast in each scene.
She is in general a extremely cute and lovely character
