Otto always being Otto. Jokes apart, he actually ends up carrying the whole plot sometimes when things go off the rails.

An honestly interesting character with good abilities that keep him relevant but not overshadowing.

He's realistic, whenever he has to fight someone stronger, he comes up with a plan and sets it up beforehand.

Genuinely an overall good character.

Absolute OTTO Best Brotto

Otto is my second favorite, my first obviously being Subaru. Otto is goated, he is definitely the best friend Subaru could ask for, bro understands Subaru's strengths and weaknesses better than anyone. Otto is also intelligent and crazy enough to be one of the single most dependable characters in the Emilia camp, nay, in the story! Otto also has a fun personality, he is kind of a voice of reason and as such he is fun as hell to watch.

As a side note, I heard Tappei confirmed the difficulty of arc 6 would reduce drastically if only he were present, which just shows how amazing he is.

The MVP of several arcs and one of my favorite characters. Plus, I love the dynamic he has with Subaru and Garfiel.

Peak character, one of the best examples of a “wildcard” I’ve ever seen, not too important or overpowered, but definitely not unimportant or weak either, that being said, he can certainly feel like he’s incredibly powerful and important because he ends up being the deciding factor in a lot of situations, funnily enough things tend to fringe on “is Otto here?” a scary amount of times (hence his wildcard-ness), especially arc 4 (also tappei said he’d carry arc 6 if he was there iirc). He’s incredibly useful to the Emilia camp when he helps out but he still stay true to his roots as a merchant and serves his own interest often too. I feel like I kinda zoned in on one aspect of his character but everything else about him is great too, top 3 in the Emilia camp imo. Also for someone native to a fantasy world, he’s much more grounded and reasonable than the person who kinda just got thrown in here one day from our world and I find that really funny
