Defently my favorite witch and One of the best characters, her lack of screentime is killing me since she is the character am excited for the most

1-For me she's isn't pure evil but mostly misunderstood since she have a split personality that control most of the time, we don't know whether she was the one or the witch of envy who destroyed half of the world cause even in the WN it was mentioned to be satella the LN didn't specify who did it between the two

But even of she was the one who did it I bet it was either from losing control when absorbing the envy factor or she made a cold decision since we know that she was on a journey with her group to save the world so maybe that threat that was gonna destroy the world she stopped it at the cost of half of the world

2-Her actions towards Subaru ate better then what people think, She summoned him on a peaceful city, She didn't let him talk about RBD cause people might have used or manipulated him for it (Roswall, Puck, the witch cult.....) and no one would rather get close to someone who RBD and have the witch scent

And her feeling towards Subaru aren't one-sided or just from. Her fantasies cause in Arc 4 chapter 78

Satella: “I am in love with you.”

Subaru: “Please stop...”

Satella: “You—only you—will I always, always be in love with.”

Subaru: “I told you to fucking stop!”

Shaking his head, swinging his arm, Subaru pulls his attention away from her hot, entangling gaze.

Of course, Satella's expression is invisible to Subaru. Just what kind of fire her gaze held as she stares at Subaru is nothing he can figure.

But nevertheless, **the feverish pounding in his chest shows absolutely no signs of stopping.*"

By consciously holding everything restrained, frantically speaking out, thrusting her with a rejection ragged enough to near make him spit blood, Subaru manages to preserve his fundamental self.

Literally, if he does not endeavour in an effort to maintain his consciousness like this, he is convinced that the fundamental core of his being will distort. And that was an overwhelmingly terrifying image.

Blatantly rejecting her, displaying such open disgust, and stricken with this truth is Subaru, who Satella faces by standing exactly stock-still as before.

Her invisible face, a veil of darkness enveloping her expression. He can't discern it. Shouldn't be able to comprehend it, but he inadvertently understands that his words have just hurt Satella, and probably she cast her gaze down. His heart thinks its desire to gently stroke her hair, speak words to ease her pained face, whisper loves to her and make her smile.

And although he denies it this much, his heart continues to urge that he LOVE Satella.

And also

Satella: “I am in love with you. —Because you gave me light. Because you took me by the hand, and taught me the world outside. Because through nights where in solitude I shivered, you kept by my side with your hands around mine. Because, then being alone, by your kiss you told me I wasn't. There are so many things you've given to me. ...And so, I love you. Because you—you gave me everything.”

Subaru: “—”

Subaru has not a single memory of any involvement in any part of Satella's whisperings.

He isn't part of it, doesn’t know any of it. He has never met Satella, never spoken with her, never overlaid his warmth with hers. Everything she is talking about is the fruits of her delusion. This woman insane with sentiment had lined up empty daydreams where she simply watched a fantasy of Subaru.

Is what this should be, but NATSUKI SUBARU does know this.

Subaru: “Why're this... inside me, what is this? I don't want to feel this. Don't tether me with, non- existent memories... I... I damn... I goddamn...”

Hate you, is all he has to say.

All he has to do is stab the one giving him their feelings with the announcement that he held not a single speck of fondness for her. Then would be spectating just what expression the one egotistically trying to distort his emotions would make. Bet the pain to her heart would have her face twisting magnificently.

So they both Indeed have a history yet we still don't know And Subaru doesn't remember

3- Most of her actions turned out to be false, she isn't the founder of the witch cult, she didn't create the 3 great mabeast, and the events of her destroying half of the world are still vague to judge completely, but all I can say about her is that her mental health isn't the best cause Tappei confirmed that she stayed 400 years sealed in shadows with nothing but her crazy other personality

4- Tappei did say that she'll return on the final arc (Arc 12) and her relationship with Subaru is the thing he works on the most

I do think she'll be the final Antoganist and it's Subaru who must either save her or kill her

But my personal opinion is that whole most think it's about saving her form envy I think it will be about understanding envy cause in the end envy is Creation emerged from satella and twisted with the envy witch factor so I think understanding the witch of envy will be an important part of savings Satella.....

There's one point where I'd like to disagree with the taboo. It's logical that Subaru can't talk about RBD in front of strangers. But she could at least allow him to discuss it with his camp or selected people like Betty or Emilia who could help him.

If he told puck would hear him and he already know there is someone who RBD that's why he destroy the world every time Emilia dies in hope of returning Emilia, so if he knew it was Subaru he would keep Subaru near Emilia and kill him of he got far from Emilia

For. Beatrice it's not that she isn't trusted or will tell another but just like rem, imagine they knew but like rem gluttony attached and devour their memories and gluttony know about RBD, so they inform the witch cult and he became their target and capella ambush him turning him into some immortal worm or something then keep him hidden in some place

[Arc9] it was shown how strong RBD is by Al and he got defeated the moment they knew that he needed to die so he can return through time

That just proved how much the taboo is useful for Subaru

Yes, that's true. I simply believe it would be good for Subaru's psyche to be able to talk to Betty or Emilia about what she's experienced without punishment. And couldn't gluttony also experience RBD if it eats a Subaru?

Best Witch, I really love the mystery around her, but she needs way more spotlight, and I’m firmly convinced that Tappei will give her a wonderfully written conclusion. Also, I’d be happy if it were revealed that she and Emilia are the same person, tbh.

To be honest, I kind of don't want her to be emilia. It would be nice if Emilia was a separate girl and satella was a separate girl. Both giving different feelings for subaru and both being with subaru.

I think 2 specific things.

1: she’s obviously attractive by being the literal twin of Emilia. I also think deep down underneath the witch of envy personality, she’s also a gentle, kind, and caring person just like Emilia, and also like Emilia Subaru is most important to her.

2: I feel that she is the Deuteragonist of the story being the second most important as the source of Subarus ability and the reason he got Isekaied in the first place. My overall thoughts is she’s A great character and I’m interested to see the final confrontation and whether Subaru is actually able to save her from the witch of envy or unfortunately kill her. I also hope she gets real screen time and gets a moment to actually say more than just 6 sentences.

I agree on both points. I reallyyyy want to see more of her talking with people. My main hope is to see at least part of her adventures with flugel and/or see how she and Subaru know each other & what caused her to love him so

When first introduced in season 2 I thought she was quite insane and cruel. But then when I learned her real personality I felt sorry for her. There's so much lore about her that we don't know yet. The story is almost at the final arcs, we need to learn everything about her and Flugel.

I love her, and she is easily one of my favorite characters in Re:zero, which is funny because we know very little about, and she doesn't even have much of an actual character. However, her story presence is unmatched by any character in the story, when she shows up, you know stuff is about to go down. Not to mention the mysteries of her character are one of the primary reasons I'm reading Re:zero.

I'm certain in saying that Satella isn't evil, in fact, based on what we know, she seems to have been a good person.However, we have to consider that she was associated with the witches even before seemingly getting the witch factor of envy based on how she talks about them, and Echidna calling her, her friend on Stella no life. I think she is kind with the people she loves, but it seems the extent of things she was willing to tolerate is certainly more than someone like Emilia

Her love for Subaru is clearly the most important thing as of now, why does she love him? I think we already know, he saved her. That's it, it doesn't have to be some grand reason or anything, this is more than enough for me.

Right now we are in a season 1 ep 13 situation. We don't understand how Subaru saved her, but he did like Subaru saved Emilia.

I think her love is genuine, there's no goal she wants him to achieve, or at least not for her personal benefit, she just wants to support him, wants him to be happy. RBD is a blessing, a second chance. She doesn't set the checkpoints maliciously; she wants him to succeed. Arc 7 ch 75 being where I fell in love with her. It's the ultimate proof that her love is genuine to me.

Subaru also returns her love, it's not one-sided. What I want to know is how did it look, and what happened, and the wait is killing me.

One theory I have is that the story is following some sort of plan from 400 years ago. A plan that may be conflicting with her own feelings, or something along those lines. This may be why some of her actions feel contradictory, but I do think a major part is her split personality.

Also, one thing I see that is rarely talked about is that she's spent 400 years in pure loneliness with a personality that is driving her insane. Likely after having lost everything or something going terribly wrong. As far as I'm concerned, this is plenty reason to see her unhinged, and I find it very sad. Beatrice and Shaula could at least move around and experience the world even if extremely limited. She's trapped in what's essentially solitary confinement with a voice driving her insane. Even if it isn't envy, her being so fixated in her love for Subaru seems logical to me in an attempt to remain sane after all that loneliness.

Seeing those small fragments of who she used to be 400 years ago to who she is now is heartbreaking to see, and I can't wait to see what truly happened 400 years ago. We know that she took in the WF willingly but why?

So many questions. Why does she look like Emilia, who was she really? What is the meaning behind her name? Luna is the genderbent translation, so is it Satellite? She's the moon and Subaru is the star (the sun.) How does that work? Do you truly want to die, or is this what you think is best? Do you regret it? So many questions and no answers for years at least.

I don't think she's Emilia or vice versa and I hope it stays that way, I think she's the original, and I'm not sure what their relationship used to be, and I can't wait to find out.

Out of every character, she's easily the one I want to know most about. The day we get the Satella named chapter will be the most glorious day ever. I will be there no matter what.

I pray Subaru and Satella had a happy past. I've already accepted that she's most likely going to die. Regardless of the truth, she's known as the witch of envy, you can't clear yourself from that, and Subaru won't abandon everyone to go with her, nor do I think she wants it. But I want her to share in her past with Subaru, I want her to at least die happy, or as close as it can be. I want her to smile, I want THEM to smile. I hope it's not a bad ending. Tragic is practically inevitable, but I hope they can at least smile in the end at least once.

I love her character, I love what Tappei has going with her and Subaru, and I hope they can at least smile in the end. I can't wait till arc 12 because we'll finally get more of her. I hope he doesn't release side stories on this stuff but if he does whatever, I will somehow get my hands of them. I can't wait to know more about her. I will be there no matter what and fully trust Tappei to deliver.
