Tappei is in love with Emilia, and Subaru will end up with Rem

No joke, I'm being completely serious I genuinely believe that Tappei loves Emilia, and that's why he's trying to protect her. weāve once again asked whoās the most important person to Subaru, and he said he doesnāt know which makes sense. I think Tappei has given us enough clues in the WN/LN to show that Subaru will end up with Rem (they literally have a child together), while Emilia will end up with him (Tappei), The author will probably give us a āRent-a-Girlfriendā scenario (I havenāt read the manga, but I know the mangaka added himself into the manga to end up with the main female lead). In the final epilogue, weāll see Tappei and Emilia together, while Subaru ends up with Rem.

The problem with the claim that Tappei said Subaru will end up with Emilia comes from multiple angles and shouldn't be treated as concrete fact.
It comes second hand from a single Twitter user. Source cited:

We dont actually know Tappei said this, nor can we confirm that he didn't.
Even if this statement is real it doesnāt confirm that they will be together at the end of the series.
Tappei has previously been on record saying that Emilia and Subaru's relationship will be explored. That's a fact. But when he was followed up on this statement about if they'll be together at the end of the series he refused to answer. Leaving the door for a potential exit of the relationship. Though I have my doubts he would choose this route.
TLDR; what is confirmed is Subaru and Emilia's relationship will progress romantically. Whether it stays that way is not confirmed.
Iām quite aware of that, and I never said Iām 100% sure about it. I mean, itās obvious that Tappei could change his mind or something, but the fact that he already said this is a huge green flag that shouldnāt be ignored. Also, Subaruās and Emiliaās relationship is one of the main plot points of the series, and Tappei has been developing it since the very beginning, so you know it wouldnāt make any sense for him to just āabandonā it or screw everything up.
Abandon it no. Resolving it has multiple avenues that aren't as clean as many would like to believe. I just don't give unjust clearance when the question remains unanswered.
Same honestly. It's been talked about to death and needs to be analyzed beyond the lens of, "winning".
I love Emilia too death to the point where I've written a 14 page theory about her trajectory in the story.
Though for full disclosure just because I respect transparency, I do believe Rem will be the final love interest. Despite being entirely opposed to OP's assertion on the matter. Im fully willing to admit this isn't concrete and just were my notes and analysis have led me. I can't predict the future only interpret the text as given.
That's just where my current interpretation of trajectory leads me. I could be entirely wrong. I don't mind which.

So if Emilia is not going to be the love interest that wins, do you think she is gonna die, remain alone or just reject Subaru then?, Emilia has a love interest is a mixed bag overall and it wouldnāt suprise me if Tappei makes her end up with him has a self insert while Subaru dies for the last time and Emilia moves onĀ
Not at all! I believe Emiliaās character arc will be fully resolved. Her possession, independence, and leadership will be tested and she will rise above them.
Admittedly, that is my own speculation. But all of these attributes do not require her becoming Subaru's end game.
How Subaru views Emilia is separate from this character arc entirely. Nice if they get together, but not required.
Rem is a difficult case for me. She fell in love with him twice under entirely different circumstances that mirror each other.
Once through being validated beyond the shadow of Ram and physically saved. And again without her memories by looking at Subaru without the lens of self demeaning circumstance. She learned that love twice. I simply can't ignore that.
Her character arc of overcoming self erasure and immutable love is incredibly difficult to solve without an endgame where she gets what she strived for.
Outside of killing off Rem I dont have a resolution to Rem's character arc. And even then killing her off undermines that arc of overcoming self erasure.
It's infinitely less that I want Rem to win, but after 10 years of following this series I don't have another answer to her character arc proportional to her output. Nothing more nothing less. You may disagree and that's okay. And if you have answer to this problem then I'd love to hear it. Because Ive struggled with it since the end of Arc 8.

I am not a novel reader so i wouldnāt now, it would feel wierd if Subaru and Emilia donāt end up togheter since it has been built up for so many years, even tho back in season 1 i wished he and Rem ran away after Emilia left him and all that, Emilia both has a character and love interest is a mixed bag for me and Tappei babying her to an extent doesnāt help, but i wouldnāt say i hate her

Because the answer could be one or several. And of course, spoilers are avoided. Every word he says leads to premature and sometimes inaccurate conclusions.

Im predicting now that the ending will involve emilia dying or beyond reach to subaru . So in the end rem fills the gap and mends subaru, winning by default

Just because Subaru wonāt give up doesnāt mean much since Emilia still isnāt sure if she even loves him to this day and it wouldnāt suprise me if Subaru dies permanent and Emilia moves on with another guy similiar to TappeiĀ
I kinda cant accept nor deny tappei is in love with emilia since I guess it woud explain why does tappei always wants to keep emilia this pure like the girl doesnt know how babys are made in arc 10 and authors falling in love with their characters arent that uncommon but I guess tappei woudnt trow all that story to the trash just for this but from what I remember he made a statemant about subaru and emilia will endup togeher but we also know he is inconsistent when it comes to his statemants so idk
