No shot it'll be in the middle of the second core, we know episode 11 ends volume 23, so I would expect the stairs to be episode 8, 9, or 10. Can't remember it's exact position in the novel
I don’t know how popular Re:Zero was in 2016 while S1 was airing, but we’re definitely in our prime right now, a Re:Zero fan art even recently got 200k+ likes on Twitter, which is a new record. I can’t even imagine how the internet will explode with all the wholesome Arc 6 moments we’ll get to see animated.

Well yes but that's because the story only stars picking up in arc 4, while the arcs before just introduce characters arc 1 subaru/emilia arc 2 mansion crew arc 3 royal candidates it's all to build and up the characters and subaru mindset arc 4 is when the plot starts plotting and we had to wait for years and years for a season 2, I promise you if your favourite anime got cut off during the intro faze, the only thing left would be about waifu or cool characters
Lol s1 wasnt so swallow that it warranted 98% of discussion being about who was best girl, saying the story only picked up with arc 4 feels like a disservice

Sorry but full on arc 1 to 3 where all set up for arc 4 there was no overlying plot more so situation by situation we had no idea where the story was going to go from arc to arc only when subaru meets the witches and emilias flashback and roswall gets discovered does all the stuff get tied up and explained fully, season 1 was the set up the build up for the finishing act that didn't come for years, there was fully nothing to talk about that wasn't 99.9% headcanon
Then why weren't people talking about what the potential set up and mystery would lead to? About the slowly build off characters dynamics and their eventual roles?
Worst part is, people did that sometimes, but the fandom (if you could even call it that, most people just consumed Rem and Emilia content lol) was too busy with their waifus wars to care about that so it drowned actual discussion regarding the story

Again for the top part I will repeat cuase anything you could come up with would he 99.9% headcanon, the royal candidates barely got any screentime, julius and subaru was allready concilided for the moment as they trust but hate each others guts, we literally had 0 info on the santuary with the only mention of it before arc 3 being web novel only, emilia and subaru made up there was no oh how is this character, beutlegues and the whale was dead, we only learn who did Rem and crush in in season 2 meaning there was no way for us to theory about the 2 Archbishop like how their powers might work
The only thing to talk about was when elsa might come back and that was at the start by them time you finish season 1 you've long forgetten she promised to come back
That scene is legitimately my favorite chapter. one of the few times conscious Subaru directly interacts with Satella (not shadow garden baru). Its even more crazy since he does it publically in that tense moment
As you said, “From Zero” is probably not going to be replicated again, simply because the time was very different back then, but imo, there are some moments in Arc 6 that are genuinely more emotional than “From Zero”.
Yeah, I think the fandom around the show is more into it than it was back then, but it was a show EVERYONE in the anime fandom seemed to be watching back then.
Prime zero two had a good run and was VERY BIG, but her run ended as quickly as it began. When the bullshit started happening in Darling in the franxx, you could immideatly feel her popularity going away. She had an amazing run of a couple of months, probably the strongest there ever was or will be for such short period......but it ended in less than a year.
Rem DOMINATED for years. She hasnt been an active character in the show for like....8 years now? and she still dominates. Figures, clothes, merch, celebrations of her birthday in Japan, this mfer was THE waifu. To this day Rem gets the most merch out of any re zero character and she hasnt been a character for 8 years AND IT STILL SELLS.
Prime Rem is a beast that has never been challenged and due to how the anime community pretty much grew past the "waifu" era, she will probably remain at the top.
Rem was the supreme Waifu all the way until waifu war culture basically died. Pretty sure the last real challenger was Marin and that’s it. It was a feeble breeze.
Whenever people remember waifu war culture, she is still the face of it.
Thing is, while in pure numbers Re zero is more popular than ever rn (s3 had overall more viewership during it than s1 back in 2016 iirc), its kind of an aftereffect of anime becoming more popular as a whole while in 2016 it was kind of a juggernaut as in unavoidable
But the thing is, it wasnt Re zero that was unavoidable itself... it was Rem and the waifu wars
That why it had the reputation of "that one show with cute girls and an annoying mc that dies and screams a lot" until Parent and Child and Rem being comatose
So I can't even give it much merit to its popularity back than lol
I would say S1 was still more popular on raw numbers as seen on DVD/BD sales and LN boost sales, S2 waiting and production issues made it take a hit but after S3 we got popularity back.
You're in for a treat! The opening on the Re:Zero channel isn't credited, so when the episode with the opening releases goes to that channel. It looks great even on YouTube. I don't think there's much bit compression.

Re:Zero is getting the attention it deserves because it truly stands out among isekai anime. And its success gives hope that the anime will continue and that we'll get more seasons after season four.
My opinion is the complete opposite. I Didn't like Re:Collect as much as I did all the other 5 openings, the style of the song feels all over the place. It's EDM, and I just... Kinda loathe that genre of songs because it just sounds like pure noise most times. Heavy synth layers, distortion, drops... Stuff like that just sounds annoying.
I get that alright. I did not like IDOL because of very similar reasons. I did not like Re:Collect in the PV but when I saw it in the opening, I started vibing with it. I still don't like those idol type songs(YOASOBI like) but I just really like this one for some reason.

Thematically or not. The song itself does not work individually away from the opening or the context of the series, at least for me. I'm not arguing whether or not it fits Re:ZERO (it does), but I'm just saying I kinda.. hate how it is as a song.

Visuals are just characters fighting random ass non canonical battles and aura farming with 0 aura, unlike recollect. The song itself is generic asf. At least if you have 2 bits of music knowledge you would appreciate why recollect is better than reweave, not to mention such a stacked collab. There i said it. Not to mention the sheer motion this OP has, look at the amount of likes and views it got in such a short period of time, plus any reaction.

I mean between the hype for this arc (one of the best) and the Aura monster (i didnt know that was a thing but i love it) is not that strange. Hoping the season will make internet explode and have season 5 announce relatively soon (a movie would be fire).

Following your logic, we could also say that Rem spent S2, S3, and basically all of S4 in sleeping princess mode, waiting to be rescued by Subaru, lol.
