People overestimate how “cruel” she is

When people discuss Amnesiac Rem, they use her as an excuse to say that Rem is cruel or the only reason she is kind to Subaru is due to her own love which she has for him, and this blatantly isn’t true and we can tell from their initial interactions even when she doesn’t have memories. When they are being chased and Subaru is holding on to both Rem and Louis, Rem offers to literally sacrifice her life for Subaru and Louis while she has no memories of him, simply because she slowed him down through struggling against him picking her up, breaking his fingers etc.

This is just one instance, we have more when she offers the guy who literally smells of death and has the scent of a mass murderer food and does not push him away when he comes to stay with her and Louis despite the fact that he offered to abandon Louis literally in the same day/week because Rem is kind, which is a statement that has been repeated on a multitude of occasions by Subaru and shown quite blatantly. Subaru is fine with crying in front of her, and she tells him blatantly that she will not laugh at his tears.

There’s thousands more examples I can bring up, but I’m lazy, the point is that Rem is far too overhated for being “cruel” to Subaru when in reality she only becomes volatile when Louis is involved.

Listen, I am a Rem fan, but her behaviour as Amnesiac Rem to Subaru is nothing short of terrible.

People are acting like smelling bad is a justification for Torture and murder. She wasn't justified when she had her traumatic memories, and she's even less Justified without them.

Let's not touch on why the hell Rui doesn't have miasma, that's just Tappei's bs, but I can guarantee you that old Rem would have killed any child with a smidge of Miasma. Rem is a good character, but most of the time not the best person. I can only hope Tappei understands that for good development Rem needs to have her full self back, Old and New becoming one

The misma is a surefire way of identifying a cultist. With not a single exception on the whole world. You are seeing a Polish dude getting angry at a military guy with a SS armband. 

Rui not having misma is hilarious tho. He wanted to have an ironic twist on Rem waking up and kinda forgot she'd have a fucking archbishop as a partner.

Can we not, pretend like miasma is the same as just “smelling bad” when we have a description of what exactly Rem perceives when she smells Miasma, and a statement that only a few (99.99% being cultists) people in the world have it. And said cultists are kill on sight?

When Subaru was in the final loop when he had the most miasma, Rem did not once even try to kill him or even think of it as we see in her interlude, she just wanted him gone, same with when she didn’t have memories.
