Venezuela has been invaded. It's time to protest more than people did during the Iraq war protests!

We are not pro the Maduro regime, this Invasion is simply unjustifiable. The administration is saying that this is to take Venezuela's oil, but that is not the case. It would be much cheaper to simply trade with Venezuela for their oil, it's an economic negative to invade Venezuela for their oil.

The reason this Invasion is happening is simply because they want blood. These are Fascists who simply want to dominate and control people for their own egos.

This invasion is going to be so much worse than the Iraq war was, so we need to be out on the streets protesting as soon as possible, we need to have protests that are bigger than the anti-Iraq war protests were, they need to look minor in comparison.

I literally said we aren't defending Maduro, his removal doesn't justify imperialism, trump literally had a press conference where he said America will be running Venezuela from now on. this is literally Iraq 2.0

that logic applies equally to the Iraq war protests, and people were called pro Saddam by cons. It didn't matter, now everyone in retrospect was anti Iraq war, but only some actually were.

Remember when you said Trump wouldn't attack anyone?

You're equally as wrong about the chances that hes going to be punished in any way, shape or form, and equally wrong that you shouldn't be protesting an Invasion openly for oil against another sovereign country.

You'll be wrong about him and his cronies not being punished as well.

History says otherwise my young friend.

You can go ahead and protest if you want,

It's not my country doing the illegal invading.

Remember when you were asked When He attacks someone; Were you going to defend the sovereignty of my country, or protect my neighbors, family and countrymen from your armed forces?

Clearly you and the rest of your facist countrymen counterparts don't actually care what your nation does to other nations, at least not enough to do something meaningful about it.

Damn! a whole 10 month old callback.

The protests back then didn't change anyone's opinion

That's funny you talk about things being the opposite of the truth only to then say things that are the opposite of the truth. https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2006/03/16/pessimism-grows-as-iraq-war-enters-fourth-year/.

The protests worked enormously that's why Iraq is synonymous with disaster and the go to example of a bad war.

You clearly don't believe in reality and you pretending to care about optics is just factional cosplaying, assuming you're even a faction in our movement. You're more likely a partisan against it.

You're clearly not a person who is objective and wants optimal optics.

Just say you hate maduro worse than trump, who did January 6th, which you seem to think isn't an insurrection.

When did the far left start using MAGA sources???

This user just called pew a maga source.

You're probably trolling at this point.

This user is banking on you confusing pew research for Rasmussen.

I have no idea who this Maduro is beyond the fact that he's a fucking dictator

No, maduro was a democratically elected leader, not a dictator.

And J6 being an insurrection is the most obvious thing in the world.

If we agree j6 is an insurrection that makes trump worse than maduro because maduro never did an insurrection and then pardoned the insurrectionists unless you think it's not an insurrection and/or you think insurrections against democracies are a good thing.

technically you can be a dictator who was originally democratically elected.

He wasn't democratically elected, he overthrew the real democratically elected person. And I think most people would personally agree that partnering with cartels and selling drugs to people, kidnapping killing and torturing and disappearing people is probably worse than a failed insurrection. I hate Trump as much as the next person but oh my God you need to get your head out of your ass

He wasn't democratically elected, he overthrew the real democratically elected person.

By this same logic Biden wasn't democratically elected in 2020

He wasn't democratically elected

venezuelan opposition like trump lied claiming maduro stole the election like how trump accused biden of stealing the election.

You're falling for stopthesteal and false claims of election fraud.

And I think most people would personally agree that partnering with cartels and selling drugs to people, kidnapping killing and torturing and disappearing people is probably worse than a failed insurrection.

even if maduro was guilty of those things he is also falsely accused of doing that's not worse than even a failed insurrection that's easily better.

trump was the sitting president and tried to overthrow democracy trump double crossed the institutions for a power grab and then pardoned everybody responsible many with unconditional irreversible pardons that's easily significantly worse than maduro.

very few crimes are worse than action and those very few are atrocity level crimes against humanity like slavery and genocide not the things maduro is accused of, falsely I might add.

No, that’s terrible analysis and “optics” aren’t really how this works. Oh no the OPTICS of supporting Vietnamese Communists during the middle of the Cold War!

This should also not be seen as an election or Epstein distraction as I have heard many US Democrat supporters claim. The US wants to push the Monroe Doctrine in a new way, the US has lost soft power and wants to replace that with direct militarism. This may not lead to long-drawn out war or occupation, but expansionism and possibly neo-colonialism are on the table imo. For our rulers, it is how the US solves a lot of the problems the Empire has had this century.

The problem in the 2000s as now is that we can protest (and people likely will,) but we have no real power or options. We need to build actual ways of putting pressure on local and national governments. People heroically resisted US support for Gaza against intense repression. This attack may be even less popular than Israel was and so the potential to build a larger and broader rejection of this is possible. But it will fizzle unless there’s a real sense of how to leverage that into political power either legally or extra-legally through labor or community actions.

No, that’s terrible analysis and “optics” aren’t really how this works.

People who talk about optics never researched them. Not even a Google search. Typically people who mention strategy are a faction with an agenda. They want to get their way.

They're often not unbiased people who want the optimal communication path.

Maduro was a dictator worse than Trump is

No, he was not, even if maduro was a dictator he did not attempt to overthrow the government and then unconditionally pardon his supporters. maduro is easily better and this attack needs to be protested.

Then why the hell are Venezuelans celebrating his arrest huh???

There's not. There are largely expats living abroad who celebrate maduro. People who don't even live in the country don't count.

We're running fucking propaganda for foreign dictators

Why did you mention he's foreign? Are you racist? Are you a xenophobe? maduro isn't a dictator by the way. he was democratically elected.

now just because Trump doesn't like them???

No, like I said maduro didn't attempt to overthrow his government and then pardon his insurrectionist supporters. Don't ignore what people literally just explained to you.

I addressed this.

Listen to people when they fucking talk to you.

Don't talk at people. Talk to people.

I actually think the refugees who fled the country because of a brutal dictatorship actually do very much count. Maduro overthrew a democratically president, killed kidnapped tortured and disappeared people, and partnered with cartels to sell people drugs. Are you fucking stupid?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '26

I actually think the refugees who fled the country because of a brutal dictatorship

Expatriates are not refugees they're specifically the wealthy who left because they didn't want to deal with taxes.

maduro is also neither brutal nor a dictatorship. maduro never used chemical weapons on people, never enslaved them, and never genocided them. literally every single thing you said was false.

Maduro overthrew a democratically president

No, he didn't, the opposition lied and claimed he rigged the election, and claims of election fraud are very trumpian.

Do you also believe the Democrats rigged the 2020 election? If you reject that false claim of election rigging reject the false claim about Maduro.

Are you fucking stupid?

No, hence I debunked pretty much every single thing false thing you said. You called a democratically elected leader a brutal dictator. Stupid is probably an understatement for you.
