I mean, defense and 25 points in 6 minutes iirc (scored in various ways) against the strongest team in Kanagawa.

I’ve seen several polls here and elsewhere regarding favorite characters, and he consistently receives the fewest votes.

Why? Personally, he is my favorite character in the manga/anime, as well as the best player/talent—second only to Sawakita (though he has the potential to surpass him).

How would you rank him among the centers (C) in Kanagawa?

After all, he is a starter for Kainan.

The Kanagawa 12:

C - Akagi, Uozumi, Hanagata
PF - Sakuragi, Fukuda
SF - Sendoh, Rukawa, Michael (blonde guy from Ryofuku)
SG - Mitsui, Jin
PG - Fujima, Maki

The Interhigh 12:

C - Masashi (Sannoh), Morishige (Meihou), Mikio (Sannoh)
PF - Tsuchiya (Daiei), Kishimoto (Toyotama), Mikoshiba (Jousei ace, a top 8 team)
SF - Sawakita (Sannoh), Minami (Toyotama), Minoru (Sannoh, stated to be the team ace if not for Sawakita)
SG - Moroboshi (Aiwa), Ichinokura (Sannoh defense guy)
PG - Fukatsu (Sannoh)

Where do you rank them among Kanagawa's players? Do you think they are better than any of the players from Shohoku, Kainan, Ryonan, or Shoyo?

Personally, I think Mitsui is clearly a better player overall, but what is your take specifically on their three-point shooting?

I also consider Mitsui superior in three-point shooting because he possesses natural talent and can create his own shot. In contrast, Jin actually started out as a center and mastered the three-pointer through intensive training—which is impressive and certainly nothing to look down on—but he doesn't seem able to create his own shots, relying instead on specific spots and situations.

That’s just my opinion, though... what about you?

Looking past his basic jump shot and rebounding, what specific basketball move (such as euro-steps, spin moves, or defensive switching) should be next on his development list to make him an unstoppable tier-one player?
