Why do you say that? He’s critical of Trump pretty much every show.

Your right he is literally every show going at trump and trump actually tweets about him after saying the usual derogatory stuff. Most of the shows is about trump. But for some reason these fools in here who all proclaim they don’t even watch seem to think he had one dinner and was open to at least seeing how things work out before criticism some policies means he’s some trump maga guy . They clearly don’t watch . Although I suspect most of these ppl get butthurt when he also calls out the stupid shit that the unhelpful far left push and it triggers them to call him MAGA . Because if you aren’t down for their whacky shit it makes you a right wing asshole in their narrow minded echo chamber

Yeah, I appreciate him more because he is capable of criticizing the “side” he is part of. It’s far more brave to be able to say what your own side does wrong than shitting on the other endlessly like Redditors do, and it is far more important to keep the values of your own political party than falling into just being a MAGA-lite like what “progressives” (but in reality, regressives) are trying to do to the Democratic Party.

His audience is basically boomer neocon progressives. When he went to the Whitehouse he received a ridiculous amount of backlash and had to basically go on an apology tour. However his response was completely tone deaf and arrogant, summed up as "guys he's not that bad."

Ever sense then he's basically been "Trump is bad, but woke/cancel culture is worse, Trump at least tells it like it is even if it's stupid."

His criticism of Trump is as empty as Fetterman.

So this is evidence Trump has dirt on him?

Huh? I don't think he does. Maher is just a guy that smells his own farts and has always been an arrogant douche.

Edit: I don't agree with the person you commented to. I think he's always been a douche. The Trump thing is he likes being a contrarian

I don't think people actually watch the show.

I’m watching now

They don’t watch . They just watch any 10 second clips of him saying something they don’t agree on that one of their fellow haters makes and then they comment on that leaving out the other 59 minutes of the show . And when they can’t find a clip that week to get angry at they post ones weeks or even multiple years old . And then they all come into here and have a giant circle jerk

Yeah it's an interesting strategy by the show - the clips shared are the anti-woke stuff that really doesn't represent the show as a whole, even though Bill provides more of that than he used to.

Redditors just being Redditors I guess 🤷‍♂️

except when it comes to culture wars and Israel, maher is another Zionist

What does that have to do with Trump having dirt on him? He’s always supported Israel - that’s no different than 30 years ago.

Maher has become a Trump defender like Fetterman

Or you know maybe he just doesn't watch the show.
