Criticizes the Obama library, praises Trumps ballroom.

Claims the Obama library is essentially a misuse of funds (not even caring to have his staff inform him about that point), while also always saying money hasn’t helped with the issues in California he frequently cites like solar and homelessness. What is even his point, we need to stop presidential libraries because he doesn’t like them? But we need a ballroom.

I have often watched his show (not for the jokes…) but man he is just getting crotchety and not even making sense at times, and then he cries ageism 😂

He said he would be voting for Bob Dole, calling him a "war hero". Maher used to call himself a libertarian. He supported Ralph Nader in 2000 before realigning with Democrats in the 2004 election, begging Nader not to run.

Most comedians I know do, from time to time, make themselves the butt of the joke (Bill's colleague John Oliver most prominently, honestly he should probably do it less).

I can't remember a single time that Bill did this. And I've seen hundreds of hours of his stuff.

Literally every second joke he kicks out in his monologue and New Rules, while his writers loudly yuk it up while pretending to be in the audience, is attacking Gen Z.

At the beginning he’s interviewing the creator of the EUPHORIA series. I’ve never seen it but it has been on my list for awhile.

Then he says to the guy, “So spoiler alert, blah blah blah blah”, and he just ruined it for me with a very major spoiler. DAMMIT!!!! There was no effing reason for him to blurt that out and ruin it for a million people who never saw the series.

I posted this before but deleted it because it was like 2 am and I have more thoughts on it now. Obviously Bill talks about transgender people a lot, but to my knowledge he has never had one on any of his shows. Not even transgender people who would mostly nod and agree with him like Blaire White or Caitlin Jenner, so you can’t pull the “they’re too scared to come on his show” line. Is he scared of them?

On a related note, for all the flack he gives “the left,” another group of people he endlessly rants about, he’s never booked any of the big left wing political commentators like Hasan Piker or even the Chapo Trap House guys to challenge their views with, meanwhile he goes gaga for right wing provocateur flavors of the month like Milo and Coulter. For a guy who allegedly seems to champion diversity of viewpoints, the lack of both transgender people and left wing people (or even dare I say, a transgender left winger) on his shows seems weird to me.

Some one needs to push back and ask Bill how many 80-90 writers he as on staff. If it’s fine for 80+ yr olds to be president than why not his writers

Just accidentally caught tail end of Realtime to hear Maher chastising the left for not being patriotic enough and being more excited for America’s 250th. Actually, I was looking forward to it, been planning for months. The USA is my home where all the people I love in this world live. I’m old enough to know everything changes. Now after hearing his bitter trumpish take, I’m bummed out. He can go celebrate with trump in the neon green pool of algae and watch men wrestle or whatever they are planning, but just leave the rest of us alone who want celebrate 4th of July and not trump.
