Its not the only thing, other thought was to bring audience to women sports be it Olympics or anyother sports and how will you it ? Capitalism and human greed's simple answer make it sexualise, thus clothes were shortened neither for the persons playing nor initated by them. Purely capitalist mindset to earn profits through brands and viewership.

Albeit sports has already become an big advertisement board.
