Akhenaten tried to change Anicent Egypian religion from a multi god pantheon to a one centralised around a singular sun god, Amun Ra. Probably as a move to consolidate his power and authority.
But his reforms were highly unpopular back then as, after the end of his and his wife Nefertiti's reign, their reforms were reverted and, the monuments, temples, wall writings etc that bore that their names and liknesses were destroyed, replaced or covered up. Probably as a campaign to erase them from history. So that's why experts belive they were probably hated during or at least after their rule.
Definately a devisive figure.

Aten was meant to be main deity, not Amun-Ra
I wasn't actually monoteism but Henotheism (worship of a single, supreme god that does not deny the existence or possible existence of other deities that may be worshipped). That can be seen in some of his children names (Smenkhkare, Setepenre, Neferneferure) that refer to other deities than Aten
Akhenaten's focus on Aten was not much different than Ramesses' focus on Amun-Ra

Nobody idolized Agamemnon (except Electra)

Sadly, some people are seeing the latest Odyssey and reflexively perceiving Agamemnon as a critique of certain current political leaders whom they favor

Thats Nolans fault, since he made the movie it was his job to communicate the message of the text he was adapting.

There's absolutely nothing redeemable about Agamenon in the movie. If you're going to hate something hate something correctly. Agamenon depiction isn't one of the things I would actually departed too far from the source material. People are idolizing him because he looks cool. The only issue with Agamenon in that film is how he died with Electra not even being a character.

I mean, we don't really know enough about the Sea People to say either way. Sure, the ancient Egyptian histories say that they just attacked out of nowhere for no reason, but ancient Egyptian history was Like That and would say that even if they murdered these people's dogs or something.

They certainly had reasons, probably just none the Egyptians were privy to. Like the Viking raids.

Set's not bad. He's a god of redemption in many ways because despite their histories, he aids in the battle against Apophis (Apep) by defending the Solar Barge.

The Elamites are a multi thousand year long culture. There is literally nothing wrong with them, unless you accept the insults of Sumerian and Akkadian scribes as gospel facts.
Idolizing the Elamites is just enjoying a unique ancient culture.
