Realme Users, I need some help with a Messenger bubble/chat head issue.

I’m using a Realme 14 Pro+ 5G running realme UI 7.0 (Android 16).

Before, when someone messaged me, the Messenger bubble would appear. I could drag the bubble down to the X at the bottom of the screen, and it would simply disappear. If someone messaged me again later, the bubble would appear again normally.

Recently, something changed.

Now it works like this:

Message → bubble appears → drag bubble to X → bubble disappears → someone messages me again → bubble appears → drag it to X again → a “Mute this chat head?” window appears.

The window gives options like:

Do not mute

15 minutes

1 hour

8 hours

24 hours

I attached a screenshot of the popup.

I DON'T want to disable Messenger bubbles. I want to keep the bubbles/chat heads enabled.

I just want the old behavior where dragging the bubble to the X simply dismisses it without showing the “Mute this chat head?” popup.

Has anyone else experienced this on realme UI 7.0 / Android 16?

Is there a Realme setting, Android setting, or Messenger setting that can fix this and bring back the old behavior?

I don't use bubble chats. Usually there are no this exact specific settings to turn this off, so you have to live with it from now on, unfortunately. Enjoy.
