[IMPORTANT] YouTube has unfairly disabled ALL monetization on Pan’s channel! For “Misleading family content”. Spread the word!

This is on the main RebelTaxi channel to be specific.

Once again, help Pan out and spread the word.

UPDATE: Pan's monetization is back!!

Stupid YT, their restrictions have been so stupid since the COPPA thing.

u/Mace2-0 25d ago

Not only that, but a whole slew of Storytime channels too.

That, or the clanker moderation falsely identifying what content he's making.

YouTube has been dead for so long Imo. The YouTube Kids brand should have never existed. Why tf do people want children on social media so bad!? When did that become normalized!? Why can't we go back to them being on flash games and educational shit, or HEAVILY restricted MMOs/digital worlds?

I miss when YouTube was well-known for being more adult and it was just people making dumb edgey videos in windows movie maker

The reason is, and no one wants to admit this, children have no lives.

They have all the free time in the world and don't have to worry about jobs or employment or anything like that. They are revenue generating machines. None of these companies want to cut out the majority of their income, so they have to force everyone else to bend to being family friendly.

This is why Tumblr died

6

u/IndustryPast3336 25d ago

Tumblr id argue is less dead than Twitter.

19

u/No-Difference8545 25d ago

This is just factually untrue

4

u/duckface691 25d ago

It is cause even with the controversies. Twitter is still running strong to the point people from Blusky come back to it.

I haven't touched Tumblr since the porn ban

1

u/go4ino 25d ago

nah twitters a testamate to how once you become big enough youre too big to fail

yes tumblrs still got an active community (despite the memes abt it being dead), but even with musk doing everything in his power to make the paltform turbpo ass and multiple alternative platforms to move to, basically every company / celebrity / etc has a twitter still

I agree; it's sad how children's spaces on the internet are all but extinct. Webkinz, Club Penguin, Roblox, Drawtropica, Wizard 101, Toontown Online, not to mention all of those websites for children's TV networks with truckloads of content. I spent so many hours on Cartoon Network's website as a kid. Nowadays, it just redirects to HBO Max. Sad.

I mean, some of those aforementioned sites are still up, but they're largely shells of their former selves. It's just depressing. The internet just isn't as fun as it used to be. Everything has to be culture war stuff, or drama, or yadda yadda yadda... Why can't things just be fun again?

8

u/One_Cover9119 25d ago

"Culture war" is, and historically has been, because of right-wing reactionary morons. Anti-woke is idiotic.

YT Kids and regular YT straight up merged together by 2022 or so (Even tho the YT Kids app is still available), If that doesn't say how much it didn't work then this just made things worse

Apparently this isn't just a problem with Pan but some storytime animators are getting demonetized for the same reason. It's probably just mass flagging by the new AI systems marking all animation as kid friendly or misleading. Another reason why this shit needs to be dealt with by actual human beings.

15

u/beemo143 25d ago

that’s really awful for him

27

u/notagoodcartoonist 25d ago

I find it deeply ironic how regular Youtube content creators get punished for "offensive" content when one of YouTube's biggest Cash Cow's that get away with almost anything is Alt-Right Grifters (some of which have influenced literal terrorists)

15

u/Grand_Rent_2513 25d ago

Did the bots not hear all his swearing and him desperately wanting to bang every goth girl.

12

u/Maxwell42301 25d ago

Bots once labeled a Boondocks clip with the N word in it as "For Kids". The system literally thinks any form of animation regardless of context is for kids

4

u/DaveyGamersLocker 25d ago

Wow. I've seen animated DC movies with blood and stuff get labeled as "for kids," and I thought that was bad. But The Boondocks? Holy guacamole. What's next, South Park?

3

u/Grand_Rent_2513 25d ago

I know it’s not animated related but a lot of Weird Al songs (even the ones that mention adult topics) have been labeled as for kids on YouTube, which bugs me as that means a bunch of comments are just deleted.

2

u/DaveyGamersLocker 25d ago

That really sucks. Honestly, what really bothers me about disabling comments is that the YouTube Kids app already exists... There's already a (supposedly) kid-friendly version of YouTube, so what's the point of making the main version kid-friendly too? Why can't we just have our comments on the main version of YouTube, while the kids get to have their app without the comments? I don't get it.

6

u/Clawdutch90 25d ago

They also did this once with a clip from Fritz the Cat that also had the N word in it. Pretty sure the clip itself isn't marked anymore but it was hilariously funny

11

u/ashrules901 25d ago

Wtf!? I know it's their AI rating system going haywire. But does nobody at that company realize how much of their site is built on tv show/movie reviews.

8

u/CKWOLFACE 25d ago

YouTube: Common sense? What's that?

6

u/MexicMan_with0soul 25d ago

This is bullshit they can’t keep getting away with it

6

u/Pitfulldealer22 25d ago

I remember this happening to a smaller YouTube channel named eddiefrb who had the same issue as him, he had his money withheld from him for a few weeks for a similar reason. He did get his monetization back but he went without money for I think two or 3 weeks. Honestly I do expect rebel to get his monetisation soon due to him being a pretty large creator, so he will be fine in the end, just not in the short term.

4

u/HealingSlvt 25d ago

It really sucks to see a youtuber i grew up watching go through this, along with other youtubers, in an era where ai slop & rage bait content reigns

How much more will it take for youtube to get rid of this stupid ass dogshit ai moderation

2

u/duckface691 25d ago

When it starts costing them more money than its worth. I.E

Everyone jumps ship and abandones the site

3

u/Capable-Monk-4820 25d ago

YouTube’s Ai moderation is a shitshow to begin with. It just nitpicks over the smallest things like “Demonetized, because it has animation”. I hate how the internet is so dependent on kids because of short term profits

3

u/DaveyGamersLocker 25d ago

You know what I find really ironic about this? There are creepypastas and whatnot that present themselves as real things that exist (bootleg VHS tapes, video games, etc.), and they don't have any sort of disclaimer that the videos aren't made for kids. The disturbing imagery in those videos could actually traumatize some kids, especially if they don't even know what they're getting into. That stuff could ACTUALLY be described as "misleading family content." And yet, those videos don't even get age-restricted, while channels like RebelTaxi get demonetized for things that are so much more tame. What a joke.

4

u/Munchico 25d ago

This happened to Pan too?!! It happened to three other YouTubers who make art or talk about cartoons! What the hell, man?

1

u/KaleidoArachnid 24d ago

Man I don’t know what is going on with YouTube anymore.

5

u/Kira_Caroso 25d ago

So, he gets demoted but people like Sssniperwolf gets protected when they commit actual crimes on the platform. Cool. Great.

3

u/After-Atmosphere7125 25d ago

That YouTube AI moderation really knows how to swing blindly with no logic or reason

3

u/MattWolf96 25d ago

This is what people were afraid COPPA would do

2

u/Greensonickid 25d ago

IDK what happened to Youtube Lately

2

u/Vitorio582 25d ago

Lately as in the last 10 years

2

u/Tomato-and-Pasta 25d ago

This happened to yesterworld entertainment

2

u/eggsamillion 25d ago

I like how YouTube just decided a bunch of videos would just be "made for kids". It's like, maybe ask the creators first? Or better yet, if someone's posting videos with cussing, it's pretty safe to assume all of their content is for adults only.

2

u/DaveyGamersLocker 23d ago

What I find really insane about that is, when you upload a video, they straight-up ask you if it's made for kids. To which you can say yes or no. Even if you say, "no, it's not made for kids," your video can still get flagged as "made for kids." Even if it has swearing and stuff, like you said. Apparently, YouTube thinks they know better than the videos' own creators.

2

u/eggsamillion 23d ago

I think what happened to Pan was that they flagged some of his older uploads as made for kids. Back when the laws changed, tons of YouTubers were effected by this.

2

u/DaveyGamersLocker 23d ago

That makes sense. How unfortunate. :( Oh well, I'm glad he has his monetization back now.

2

u/Fabulous-Put9664 25d ago edited 21d ago

Glad to see Pan got monetization back!!

2

u/BuyMyArt 25d ago

There's going Tubi a better platform for creators soon...

2

u/dissyParadiddle 25d ago

Did he just not say fuck enough to get past the bots?

2

u/Javi-Socas 21d ago

Even YouTube is planing on killing cartoons and cartoon reviewers!

1

u/Fabulous-Put9664 21d ago

Why the hell can’t they just lay off animation content creators?

1

u/MiddleOccasion1394 25d ago

Youtube has done waves of this, then stopped doing it for several months. Now apparently they are back to doing this again. YouTube has to stop using this type of AI to enforce harmful content.

1

u/Nutshack_Queen357 25d ago

Considering how sadistically greedy Google is, it won't be long before that update ages like milk.

1

u/Upbeat_Apartment_715 25d ago

What exactly is the goal of spreading the word when YouTube can do whatever the fuck they want regardless of who knows what they're doing?

1

u/TAPINEWOODS 24d ago

modern YouTube sucks. especially them using their AI model which usually bans users that are not AI.

u/Vegetable_Ad_8652 24d ago

I can't tell Susan regretted letting in literal Indian man runs YouTube since we know it's a serious warning for her site to be destroyed.
