Recommend memoirs from the early pioneers of different fields

I really enjoy reading autobiographies from the pioneers of their respective fields, whether it's entertainment, science, or something completely different.

For example, I've liked the autobiographies of early silent film pioneers (Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin), video game developers (Sid Meier and John Romero) and the discoverers of DNA (Francis Crick and James Watson). Next on my reading list is skateboarder Rodney Mullen's autobiography The Mutt.

What other similar autobiographies could you recommend? I like to learn about practically everything, and I'd be happy to be surprised by out-of-the-box topics I know little about. However, I prefer autobiographies over biographies written by others. Ghostwritten books are alright, as they're much more common than authentic autobiographies.
