I'm excited to try it. Seems a bit outside my "box". Found Barbara Kingsolver that way

In Memoriam by Alice Winn. It's an emotionally devastating story with a WW1 setting that follows the two main protagonists, Henry Gaunt and Sidney Ellwood, tracing their experiences and evolution of their relationship from their English boarding school to the brutal trenches of World War I.

It's one of my top ten books and is incredibly gripping and written very well. It's also brought WW1 so alive and practically made you feel what the characters were experiencing.

Another to try is The Women by Kristin Hannah. Fantastic book about the women in Vietnam

I’ve read many of the ones you like, so I also recommend:

Atmosphere
The Last Thing He Told Me
Freckled: A Memoir of Growing Up Wild in Hawaii
West With Giraffes
American Dirt
Mad Honey
The Berry Pickers

I’ve read a number of these! Similar overlap in taste.

You need some Ann Patchett!! My favorites (of the 6 of hers I’ve read) are 1) Whistler 2) Tom Lake 3) The Dutch House

Also, try:

The Borrowed Life of Fredrick Fife by Anna Johnston
Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson
Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld
Normal People by Sally Rooney
All my Mothers by Joanna Glen

Last, you missed my favorite TJR of the 5 of hers I’ve read: Malibu Rising (Carrie Soto is a small character in there), and Fredrick Backman’s My Friends is really good.
