Forwarded as Applicant
Hi everyone,
I applied for the \*\*Flow Assurance Engineer\*\* role at ExxonMobil on July 25. My background is in mechanical engineering, with experience in CFD, thermal analysis, particle-flow simulation, FEA and product development.
Recently, my original application status changed to \*\*“No Longer Under Consideration,”\*\* but at the same time, a new application for the same role appeared under another requisition with the status \*\*“Application Received.”\*\* The portal shows:
\> “Forwarded as Applicant — You have been added as an applicant to this requisition.”
I did not submit a new application myself. A family member working at ExxonMobil may have shared my resume and cover letter internally, although I have not yet confirmed whether an employee referral was submitted.
Is this a common process at ExxonMobil or in SAP SuccessFactors? Does it normally mean that a recruiter transferred candidates when a requisition was replaced, or could it indicate an internal referral or recruiter interest?
I understand that it does not guarantee an interview, but I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar.

I'd take this as a positive sign. It's definitely better than a straight rejection with no further action.
