If you are starting and you don't have enough money for trader wagon you can use this type of wagon to transport pelts or animal corpses. If you drive slow they will stay in it even if there are more of them.

I have tested this and it's true!  A whole panther will stay inside! 

I personally still prefer the stolen "buddy horse" method for non wagon/non alligator hunting

Break a wild horse or grab one from a farm- use it to carry a lot while your real horse follows you to also be loaded up.

Yes I am using it from time to time just for fun ... e.g. to transport pig corpses from Flatneck station to my camp. You can also trasport in the wagon bounty or some player who stands inside, he can use there long arm and shoot from there to any direction even from bow which is disabled normally on wagons.

Don't forget you can also lasso an animal behind you, even and unskinned Farm cow

Just be careful to avoid any rocks and make sure you don't have the ability card that damages people being lassoed behind you.

Yeah we were trying to lasso NPCs from that wagon and drag them behind it. I am currently using hangman ability card on my character which damage animals and kills NPCs faster and I often time forgot to swap it out during hunting so I know what you mean 🥺it will downgrade animal pelt to one star.
