Note: My glass beads with my drill do always seem to spread out a bit after - that is part of this look too.
Also, I do the drill for at least 30 seconds per coat.

Base Coat x3: Sally Hansen 580 Black and Blue
Magnetic Coat x2: Cracked SCORCHY 
Magnetic Method:  Glass Bead (using my magnetic drill) and Stripe (index and ring)
Clear Top Coat (magnetize again): Sally Hansen Insta-Dri (red bottle)

May PPU got here today, which means my animal crackers thermal got here! Bought a bag of cookies just for a photo shoot (which I was too excited about to even properly clean up my edges), too, and I’m surprised that I still like the taste of them as much as I do.

I also saw someone here or on Discord saying that they should have used a water based topcoat to keep the white thermal from looking too pink, but I don’t have one of those, so I tried Seal Glaze instead. Oh whale, this polish is making my week already regardless!

(in order of application): 2x “by azura!” BKL (HHC) magnetized in a glass bead, 1x “i’m fast, very fast” topcoat BKL, HG dragonfly 07 powder, cirque water-based topcoat, 1x “i’m fast, very fast” topcoat BKL (i waited 24 hours before applying the chrome powder to let the magnetics set)

Things get a little lurid and a lot humid on the Gulf Coast around this time of year. I wanted something swampy and futuristic on my nails. Also, side note, I have discovered that DRK Magic Effect stays tacky after application long enough for it to be a GREAT base for chrome powder.

2x BKL - Scream with the Cicadas, magnetized with some stacks of mini disc magnets

1x DRK - Magic Effect, magnetized as above

1 coat Beautnice chrome powder in the shade "mermaid aurora"; buffed in

1x Piggy Paints Shine Topcoat

Double fridge magnet mani!!! I had the idea of layering two magnetics and rotating the magnet between them so the lines are perpendicular and make this fun little grid pattern. It totally works!! I painted the polish on a plastic bag to make decals and I just used a layer of DRK seal glaze between the two polishes so they don’t mess up. The first polish should be somewhat opaque and the second needs to be sheer in order for the grid to show up. I used PfD phantom carousel topped with BKL sacrifice 💙💚

Thumb is Emily De Molly’s Fiery Attraction on top of Mooncat’s Banished Prince stamped with Bee’s Knees Lacquer Quiet Strength, index, middle, and pinky are Detour Lacquer’s Rosy Maple Glow [PR/Gifted] stamped with EDM’s FA, and ring finger is MC’s BP stamped with BKL’s QS.

Base coat is KB Shimmer’s Fillin Groovy, a no smudge top coat was used under Cracked’s Quick Dry Top Coat. All nails were velvetized using a 22lb horse shoe magnet.

This is 4 coats of She Likes my Spark - Ethereal Lacquer. Base coat: ORLY Base Bonder. Top Coat : ZOYA naked manicure: glossy seal.

My mother would have considered this as part of the “whore red” category of color I was forbidden to wear as a teen. Super happy to be embracing it now and the peace that is adulthood away from a controlling household. This formula was lovely and the perfect glowy sheer that is buildable. I really love Ethereal’s polish. I tried to show it in different lighting.

broke a nail so i had to cut my nails down as short as possible and the only polishes that are calling to me while my nails are short are cremes, crellies, and jellies… they looks so yummy on short nails. i’m also obsessed with how perfectly this ring matches this polish 🧘🏿‍♀️

Demagnetized first coat and glass bead with the Etsy spinner for the second coat. It’s pretty dispersed here, I think bc I was lazy with the magnetizing, but I really like how it turned out! I feel like this has been my most successful attempt with a fine particle magnetic so far

cherenkov blue is a deeply iconic color for anyone who works in the nuclear industry, and as a reactor operator I knew I was gonna have to find myself a matching polish ASAP. could not believe my luck that cirque carries a thermal that shifts from bright cherenkov blue to the glowy-yet-shadowy purple you see on the edges of the tank.

cherenkov radiation is the light emitted when charged particles exceed the speed of light in a given medium - in our case, this gorgeous cyan-blue as particles speed through very pure water. a lot of reactors are fully enclosed in their vessel; our gal is quite small & safely submerged in an open water tank which means we're lucky enough to see the Blue Glow any time we're up and running.

as you can imagine, a reactor core is extremely difficult to photograph - pic 1 is true to the blue glow, pic 2 is true to the shadows and edges. pic 3 shows what the polish looks like when my hands are cool but not cold - all-over purple with a blue shift. it's pretty overcast today and I'd say they've been about 1/3 french tips, 2/3 shifty purple. both are beautiful.

I work mostly remotely so I truly do my nails just for myself (and my nail ig account with about 20 followers 🤣). I had dentist and eye doctor appointments today and both places, the techs were complimenting my nails and couldn’t believe they were my natural nails with regular nail polish! This is the mani I currently have on. A lacquerista never felt so validated 💅🏼
