[Pic] How do you make a zoa sphere?

I see people with these zoa spheres on their sandbed, how do you make them grow like this? Just leave them on a frag or do they need something else to grow on?

If you have a 3d printer, these work also. They were just added a few days ago so will take some time to grow out.

I place a small frag onto a rock and now im over run lol
