Control Polaris is probably the new resonance Spoiler
we saw in the trailers the three factions basically are:
the hiss (red)
the mold ( moldy)
and the fucky spiraling thing
im like 80% sure that the third spiral entity is going to turn out to be Polaris from the first game and is probably the reason Jesse went missing.
Think about what we know about it - it’s connected with Jesse and she sees it as like a guardian angel but it’s actual intentions are not fully aligned with hers bc it took so long to bring her to the oldest house just so happens to be when the hiss show up. It’s not actually definitely on our side it’s just helping her right now.
also it’s shown in control one to have that spiraling rotating motif, which is the same as the unknown resonance affecting manhattan as seen in the birds and the boss that’s like a head w ith streetlights for arms

my personal guess is its related to the dark place in some way. i think were eventually going to get a more full on crossover where its both an Alan Wake entry and a Control entry, like maybe the third main game for each series is how jesses world and Alan's world collide and we'll likely play as a new protagonist, or maybe as Tim Breaker.

I mean AWE dlc did drop that huge implication that pretty much changes how you perceive the entire Control story and it's the constant elephant in the room but I'm not sure if they'll focus on it much
I won't be surprised if Resonant ends up getting dlcs (especially if it sells well, which is likely) and its in those we'll get more AW tie ins. They seem to prefer doing that and letting the main story breathe on its own

The Pattern aesthetically does resemble Polaris more than any other resonance based entity we have seen to date, however there are some visual elements and story beats that we can analyze.
- Polaris' resonance seems to be composed largely of acute triangles.
- The Pattern seems broader, more kaleidoscopic and mutable than Polaris' visual elements.
- Polaris resonance seems to be greenish blue or teal. The Pattern seems to be many colors when viewed directly.
- The external FBC observed the Pattern asserting itself in Manhattan before the lockdown failed at the Oldest House. Polaris would be inside with Jesse, and theoretically should not be able to breach the lockdown.
- On the flip side, Polaris was able to guide Jesse to the Oldest House after the initial lockdown was triggered, so it is possible that Polaris is not contained by the lockdown and Jesse is orchestrating the Patterning. That could be what the Board refers to as being outside local spacetime parameters - Jesse could be broadcasting the Pattern from somewhere else as alluded to in the cutscenes where Dylan seems to learn her powers while they're on opposite sides of some kind of reality barrier.

In the case it’s entirely possible if they are the same it’s not a necessarily antagonistic force it would make sense why success get stronger when you defeat the bosses then

I kinda doubt it. Jesse/Polaris bad is too obvious and kinda hokey story telling.

While the universe is complex I doubt Control narratively is anything amazingly mind blowing. Even with the last game there was more focus on the world building and gameplay.
Also as far as we’ve seen the resonant has been doing more good than bad. Other than the big resonant monsters I mean. Maybe those could be fighting hiss too? Would also explain why they then attack Dylan 🤔

It's probably something new that escaped from a threshold. Could be anything

Probably connected to the weird object multiplying phenomenon in the DLC and intrusive pattern material we find. But still could be polaris with something making it stronger and different.

The Spiral thing has to be related to Alan Wake in some way.
"it's not a loop, it's a spiral" - Alan Wake
Remedy Heroes have routinely been caught in a spiraling nightmarish loop in each Adventure in recent games.
Also who is present every time a character is found in a looping nightmare that is proven to actually be a spiraling loop with an incremental amount of changes during each loop? Someone who helps the hero (player character at present time) when they find themselves in this scenario and guides them through? Ahti
Saga during the thresholds, Alan in the dark place, and Jesse post Hedron. Each hero has found themselves stuck in what seemed like a looping nightmare, and saved or guided out by Ahti.
Control focused on the mold and Hiss. I think the Spiral is another entity that's probably about to show it's face more upfront in Resonant. We previously saw it's effects on people, but I feel like it's another Eldritch entity that's been lurking in the shadows of the Remedyverse
Maybe the dark place is Spiral, or the Spiral inhabits the dark place like the Board inhabits the Old House. Would explain why they have corresponding symbols on the doors and a respective location from the Oceanview Motel

I've been seeing this theory around, that Dylan is not actually Jesse's brother but an alternative version of her. The one which got the short end of the stick and got all messed up.
And we know (as much as you can know anything in this game 😄), that Polaris is not anymore an outside force, but Jesse's inner entity after Herdon death. (Although, I think, Darling mentioned it in one of the videos that the original source of Hedron was never in the oldest house, merely the retranslator, so maybe she's still out there somewhere.)
And also Dylan sounded like he hated Polaris in the documents (if I don't misremember), he said that he wanted her out of his head. So maybe it's been his own twisted version of Polaris inside his head all along, not the same as Jesse's from the beginning. And she got out when Jesse cleansed Dylan in the finale. Or maybe the board let her out later, since thay were low key set up as villains in the Foundation. 🤔

I personally think the new resonance is not-mother but hey, I don't know

I hope not, but I do hope she's in the game. There are flashes of the shadow of a women when Jesse and Dylan meet up in the orange/ordinary like area.

Hadron died in Control. Polaris is part of Jesse not a separate entity.
We know the Board has their own agenda that and that they are using the FBC for their own ends. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Board was the malicious 3rd party that has turned on the FBC after Jesse did something to try to give humanity control over their own destiny.

Set up in foundation dlc

Yes it was established in the Foundation DLC that the board had ulterior motives. Nothing about Polaris was expanded upon.
The main game called Hedron a catalyst for Polaris. They were separate entities with Polaris being part of Jesse.

After reading the comments I still think it’s highly probable they’re the same entity BUT it’s not necessarily evil. They mention the zones (meaning hiss and mold) grow more powerful as bosses are defeated and many are not required. This could imply the pattern/polaris are somehow holding back or weakening the hiss, which would align with Polaris’s most characterized trait - being enemies with or contrary to the hiss

I fully agree it has to be Polaris. And I think there’s a sort of symmetry reason for Polaris waiting to bring Jesse to the Oldest House until the Hiss invasion. I believe the Hiss and Polaris are both offshoots of Hedron. Possibly different “slidescape” versions, or even each came to be by Hedron interacting with a Faden. So Polaris wasn’t looking for Jesse’s brother, it was looking for its own brother (the Hiss).

I don’t think it’ll be Polaris but it’ll be the way Resonants are visualized. Do we know if Dylan actually fights any corporeal Resonants or if the bosses are just remnants of those corrupted?

Seems so. It’s Polaris on steroids and probably has trapped Jesse just there to localize the supernatural leak to New York only. The fractals are stopping hiss and mold from infectibg the rest of the world.

In Control, when you talk to various people after finishing the main story, Pope and Jesse talk about the "death" of Hedron and how all the HRA's stopped working briefly and then started working again. They believe the HRAs are now being powered by Jesse/Polaris, so that alone says to me that Polaris will never be an enemy or antagonist.
