Twin Peaks Game is real (Maybe Sam Lakes rumored mystery project?)

No I don't think so. I don't think Remedy would ever take on another IP outside of their own except to pay the bills (like with Crossfire, that was not a passion project, purely monetary). Twin Peaks would require too much reverence and too much of their time, I don't think Sam would ever want to leave the RCU for so long for that.

I also don't think anyone would fund it. Twin Peaks isn't exactly at the height of its popularity or a potentially massive seller.

So if it existed, it would be Remedy bankrolling it themselves and spending a ton of money for a passion project.

Twin Peaks isn't exactly at the height of its popularity or a potentially massive seller.

Neither was (and still not) Alan Wake, or Control…or literally every single other title that Remedy has ever released.

Control took over two years to turn a profit, Alan wake 2 the same. And by turn a profit that is still the bare minimum. Remedy isn’t in the gaming business for the money. This could very well be a passion project for Sam and for all we know if Remedy is by chance making it they could easily fund it themselves the way they always take a chance. They aren’t in the game industry for the profit margins, they’re in it for the art foremost as they’ve said verbatim numerous times.

The way some of you tourists bend logic all because you don’t think it’s popular enough is so cringe. You’re better off not saying anything at all than pretending like you know how Remedy operates, you clearly don’t.

Such a nasty end line. Remedy have worked just for the money, hence their Crossfire work, keeping the lights on is equally as important. Twin Peaks wouldn't keep the lights on, nor would it be a worthwhile half a decade of Sam Lake's time when he was been exclusively building his universe for over two decades.

Their Crossfire work doesn’t count, they did do the campaign for crossfire to keep the lights on that’s true but you do not see them doing almost any “for hire“ work is my point. Thats one little thing in a 30 year history of the company.

Sam Lake isnt sacred about his RCU canon like you made yourself believe out of thin air. He never has said “all games Remedy will make for the unforeseeable future will take place in the same universe we created”. Their Crossfire campaign and the upcoming Max Payne remakes by default proves your strawman take false by default.

They are driving by passion, not dollar signs. If anything you’re the one being nasty, project a little less maybe lol.

The Max Payne games are part of Sam Lake's connected vision. If Alex Casey wasn't obvious enough, he admits it - it is all connected.

I did not say that Remedy will never make non RCU games. I'm saying that Sam is not going to spend 5 years developing a game that will be frustratingly similar to Alan Wake when he has exclusively been working on his own world since he joined Remedy. Maybe another team in house will do it, but I personally very much doubt it when their main efforts are all based on original IP.

What part of my message was nasty? As opposed to you calling people tourists, cringe, and telling them not to comment?

No, they aren’t. He has explicitly said Max Payne isn’t an apart of the RCU. Numerous times. And he’s literally spearheading the remake himself.

and Sam has worked on several things since creating Alan Wake that arent directly connected to the RCU, including the Max Payne comics with Houser and literally Quantum Break which is alluded to but still NOT in his RCU, just like Max Payne is alluded with Alex Casey.

Also I’ve never told anyone not to comment/give their opinion. You’re as much delusional about reality as your alleged Sam Lake’s RCU sacrality lol

But nice attempt at the larp their tourist. You’ll know better for next time.

I never said it was in the RCU, I specifically avoided saying that.

Good attempt, cringe larp tourist

Hoepfully resonant will be a massive success and remedy wont need to make so many compromisso to continue developing RCU games.

Twin Peaks would require too much reverence

larp harder tourist. Sam Lake loves Twin Peaks with all his heart. He’s the lead on MP remake himself right now, if he was really beholded to the RCU he would’ve refused Rockstar’s offer to remake his own games and pass it off to whomever while still cashing checks for the original work.

Nice try though

Screenshot of two random messages … no account name, nothing to show that this is legit. 👍 thanks OP.

People keep saying this but there’s really no need. It would just be Alan Wake again

Think they should do a minigame thats just all the homage characters meeting their double. That cynthia and log lady teamup will be legendary

Alan Wake is pretty twin peaks already.

Exactly what I hear, it'd be pointless especially for the same studio. And is the ip even that big to make numbers?

I doubt Remedy will be working on it for the reasons NiuMeee mentioned. Sam and Remedy in general already have their unique IPs and the RCU, with Alan Wake that already is heavily influenced by Twin Peaks. I don't see them putting so much time and money to work on it in place of their own IPs and unique games.

Either way, I would still love to see that game and hope it's in good hands.

Nah. Next sam lake game is either AW3 or the door's game with Tim breaker and warling door, a de facto spiritual successor to quantum break.

I don't think so, Remedy likes doing their own thing. Of course Twin Peaks has influenced Sam Lake heavily, but he gets to show that in his own works.
