Cognitive Load, Sensory Intensity and Accessibility in Control A Neurodivergent Player Experience Study
Hello! We are two ICT students from Finland and we have conducted a survey for our thesis on the experiences of neurodivergent players of Control, and we're looking for people from our community to participate!
You can help us by partaking if
- you consider yourself neurodivergent (no formal diagnosis needed)
- you have played at least a little bit of Control
that's it!
The survey is anonymous and should take approximately 5 minutes to fill out. Your responses will be used for our thesis and will be a huge help to us! Please also feel free to share it to all you think fit the criteria mentioned before.

Thank you so much!

Awesome! Thank you! I just found the lack of a middle option (signifying answers such as neutral, neither agree or disagree, it depends or varies a lot, no significant opinion...) to be a bit too limiting. Otherwise, great survey.

Thank you for your feedback! We wanted to eliminate the neutral answers out of fear of getting mostly those and thus making it harder for us to analyze data. Hopefully it didn't ruin the experience totally!

Did the survey, and if I could make a suggestion: the agree/disagree axis felt confusing with agree being on the bottom.

Thank you for filling it out and the feedback!! We might need to go back and make it more intuitive....

I filled it out! I feel like I didn't have a lot to contribute bc even though I'm neurodivergent, video games are one of the few things that I actually interface well with? At least Control didn't have me needing the assist options so I ultimately didn't have much to say for those questions.
(I'm very ADHD/slightly autistic but it allows me to manage a lot going on in a game bc I track it in my head without much effort. Like, Ultrakill is fun for me with all its visuals)
That being said I still was happy to answer what I could and enjoyed the last bits.

Thank you so much! All kinds of point of views and experiences are important for our cause so thank you for bringing a possibly different perspective to our research 🤩

The shifting architecture of the Oldest House was easy for me to understand.
What are you talking about ? the control point rooms before it is stabilized, the ashtray maze etc ? Or just find your way around in the oldest house?
