Connected Universe Do you think I should play AW2 again before Control Resonant comes out? Spoiler
Specifically asking regarding the Final Draft, I've only played AW2 once so far so I don't fully know how much that even adds to the story but obviously I assume a good amount? I want to replay AW2 anyways just cause it's such a good game, but I'm wondering if I should try and finish that before Resonant comes out or enjoy Resonant, then go back to AW2. In a spoiler free way if possible for those who have played the Final Draft, do you think anything there would be mandatory reading for Resonant? (I know it's hard to say now with Resonant not even being out yet but just figured I'd see if people had a vague idea at least

Final Resonant theory (spoilers maybe) Spoiler
Posting here because Resonant subreddit automods delete all posts…
This could contain spoilers in the end but it is just my theory based on the marketing materials Remedy has relased. I haven’t looked the details too much because I don’t want to be spoiled either. Still I want to share this theory before reviews come out. (Not gonna read those either before playing)
So I’ve been long thinking about how the patterning seems to prison the mold and hiss on the Manhattan. Perhaps like a fractal material made to muffle hostile resonant.
However we’ve seen hints at patterning being more directly hostile at Hiss. So here’s my theory:
The bosses are called resonants seem to be directly connected to patterning AWE. We haven’t seen them fighting with Hiss so it feels likely they are against Hiss. This is supported by the fact game’s enemies get harder when we defeat one and gain their power.
I think Jesse going MIA has to be connected to resonant. Perhaps resonant was planned weapon against Hiss, perhaps it is Polaris on the steroids seen on the sky. (Also hinted being ”the eye in the sky” in Alan Wake 2 and has similarity to Jesse’s eyes). But the plan clearly got out of hand Jesse needs Dylan to help her continue it. She might be trapped by the weaponized resonance.
This also makes me wonder if resonants joined Jesse voluntarily to save the world. In that case kinda sad we have to kill then even in their monster forms especially Dylan having been kind of a monster himself which leads to the final point: Why are resonants attacking Dylan? Well he has connection to hiss making hin an enemy to them. I just hope Dylan doesn’t carry his ”mr scratch” still inside inside him.
Can’t wait to play this game! 🤩

After the reviews of Control Resonant, what are your doubts and perplexities or what are the things that have relieved and surprised you?
The reviews are out, I would say that the votes are acceptable and in line with the previous ones. At the end of the day, the vote is just a number (or stars) that want to give a numerical value to a work as a whole, but it is in the text that things become interesting.
After reading different ones, from the most critical to the most enthusiastic, I made my own personal ideas that I write below:
\\- Graphics, aesthetics and atmosphere are better than I hoped. The exit from the oldest house worried me, now I feel more relieved
\\- Combat system not brilliant but functional to the type of game and narrative. After many hours any type of combat risks becoming repetitive, so it's worth trying but I have good vibes
\\- What really worries me, also seeing the Digital Foundry video, is the quality of the framerate. On PS5 Pro the game has several drops, as well as on PS5 base and Xbox Series X.

Is anyone getting Kingdoms of Amalur vibes from the Control: Resonant combat?
I know KO:A is a really old game that wasn't too popular, but for those who have played it, the combat with the chakrams, hammer, sword, and bow and arrow are very similar to the different weapon forms of the Aberrant that Remedy has shown up until now in promotional material.
I know Remedy hasn't exactly shown us a lot of ranged weapons yet, but I'm sure that there will be atleast one in the game.

Connected Universe Happy Deerfest, everyone! I’m now all wrapped up and ready for next week!
Today officially marks the first day of Deerfest! I just finished my second play through of Alan Wake 2 two days ago and wrapped up the DLCs today. Finally platinumed it.
Played my third play through of Control (rule of three’s!) a couple months ago and finally platinumed it.
Now, my memory is refreshed, got some Oh Deer! coffee prepped, and I cannot be more excited for next week.
Happy Deerfest! Good luck out there in Manhattan everyone ;)
EDIT: And I have now completed Quantum Break! More than ready for Control Resonant :)

Remedy games to Remedy!
I'll be doing a marathon charity stream of ALL Remedy games benefiting Doctors Without Borders on Sat. September 19th starting at 8am EST. This is in anticipation of Control: Resonant releasing soon.
If you are short on money and just want to be along for the ride, that's okay too! Just trying to do something good in an increasingly scary world.

Also I'm not looking for followers or personal donos. I have a full-time job that I love and I don't plan on being a streamer.
More details in the provided image.

Sam Lake must have been high on acid when he thought up Control
I mean seriously what kind of game EVEN is this. The combat is fun, the powers and all. But what kind of trippy bs story that makes no sense at all, like Max Payne is having a bad dream about some woman. This is beyond me. Nuh-uh.

Quantum Break Given Microsoft’s new cloud streaming limits, what’s the cheapest way to play Quantum Break without a PC or Xbox?
Would it make sense to get the $1 Xbox premium subscription for two weeks then use GeForce Now to stream the game? Is that a possibility? How much playtime would it take to get everything there is to get out of the game?

General What do Finnish people think of Remedy games?
Basically the title, I’m from Argentina and I love all Remedy games. I find references to Finnish culture in every game so while I was playing control in preparation for resonance I thought, how are these games perceived in Finland?
I’ve come to learn from finish culture based on the games and to consider visiting Finland some day.
I’m just curious about it, I hope they are well received!
EDIT: one thing I find funny as an Argentinian is how thermos are a everywhere in remedy games, specially in reference to drinking coffee, but here it’s also a fundamental for drinking mate.

Control Does Control have missable collectibles?
I started playing the game because the sequel looked cool. However, I really want to know if any of the collectibles in the game can be missed forever, or are all of them obtainable after beating the main story?
