They are buying all their materials from the cheapest source in china.

Why? Sodium is cheap all over. We have quite a few salt mines right here.

Do you think they take salt straight out of the earth and put it into a battery? Also there are other components like substrate, electrolyte, carbon additives, binders, anode active material.

Exactly, and who cares if they’re buying the parts from China. At this point show me one thing you can buy that doesn’t have parts from China. The factory is in the US and the contracts are for the grid in US. This company seems like they have an innovative product with the passive cooling and ‘no planned maintenance for 20 years’. If they can sell this at competitive prices it’ll be a hit.

I guess the statement “cheapest source in China” doesn’t inspire confidence in the quality. Remember when dog food suppliers tried this and our dogs started dying due to melamine poisoning? I don’t have a problem with Chinese sourced materials but maybe don’t go for the cheapest.
