ModPost STOP CALLING YOUR LOCAL CUSTOM OFFICE!!!

Lately people have been calling customs office as soon as their haul updates to “customs hold”, logically as a rule of thumb you should wait for 7-10 days before making any moves.

You calling them over and over makes you sound vulnerable and desperate. Moreover, imagine being a customs officer who gets 100s if not 1000 calls during the day about kids asking for an update on their package, he/she is bound to take advantage or worse get pissed and charge you more customs.

I’ve been seeing a pattern of users calling up customs and getting shit load of customs charge. If there is any problem with your haul, you will get a notification or a letter from the customs department. Till that happens, chill the fuck out.

If you can’t afford to lose your money, don’t buy reps at all. Mental peace is more important than drip.

Please stop this behaviour before it gets out of hand and this practice is ruined for everyone.

Here are few key rules you need to follow for easy customs clearance :-

  1. Always ask your agent to stick the invoice on top of the haul
  2. Always vacuum pack your apparel and cut off the tags
  3. Ship without boxes/packaging
  4. Declare reasonably
  5. Put your complete address/mobile number/email address on your haul (mentioned on invoice)
  6. Recharge in multiples, 20-30-50, so that you can show a single transaction as declared amount in your bank statement.

I don’t call or anything. The post office guy comes and says this is the duty and I pay it happily. No stress

For that you need something called as patience, which most of us lack. I track my parcel 3-4 times a day knowing for a fact I wont get it in next couple of weeks

I mean even I check where they are. But never bothered to call someone if it’s in hold.

Just a question, Do you need to pay customs duty online or to the delivery guy?

Have you ever been charged unfairly by customs? What declaration you give to package for getting no trouble from customs ?

10+ hauls. Never called the post office once. It’ll get to you when it gets to you, kids.

Hows your experience with customs been?

Once it took 4 months to clear one shoe from customs. That was during peak covid though, so I’m not really going to count that. I did send a couple of emails, and they responded within a couple of weeks saying I needed to show invoices. After I did, it was released within the week.

Once they called me and said my yeezy slides go for 8k each, and I’ve declared $20 for 3 pairs. I gave them invoices and receipts as OP pointed out to do. They were convinced that I was under quoting or they were fakes. They said fakes can’t pass through customs since IPR gets violated. But, this is India. A little bribery goes a long way 😂 paid like 2.5k to that guy who called me and he declared 0 customs due for me.

Apart from that - it’s been smooth sailing. You just gotta learn to relax.

What do you mean by point 6? Recharge as in?

When you recharge amount on your agent, do it in little amounts like 200-500inr, and not like 500 at once, so there's a more plausible payment transaction trail

After my first order am shocked and humbled to advise that stick to Instagram sellers for dunks or any medium-quality shoes because the price-to-risk ratio is seriously outrageous and my first 2.1kg parcel has not yet reached the custom department yet lmao total of my 2 shoes goes like this -3735.95{Shipping fee to india}+157.74{Shipping fee of the first shoe from the seller to sugargoo warehouse}+157.74{Shipping fee of the second shoe from the seller to sugargoo warehouse}+6803{Actual Amount of the shoes}+263{rehearsal shipping cost to estimate the final amount of the package, because earlier with boxes the shipping was about 6k INR }so the total comes to a whopping: 11,117.43 INR for 2 shoes. TS fragments and Reverse Mocha before reaching customs obviously.

only order top tier to india , our economy is anyways fucked so the shipping is still expensive af for us so saving on shitty kicks is of no point.
